IEM is looking for a Full Time – Operations Lead to work with our team in support of disaster recovery efforts in the United States.

Primary Location:
- Live anywhere in the United States, but must be willing to relocate to New Mexico.
- Work in an office environment and remotely from a personal location; days in the office will depend on the needs of the project.
- Preference will be given to candidates already residing in New Mexico.
- Assist Program Manager with the overall operation and direction of the program.
- Develops and maintains Project Work Plan(s), including budget and schedule.
- Provides written and oral reports to contract management and client representatives.
- Conduct reviews and finalize program documentation, including contract deliverables, contract scope and costing information, contract accounting, purchase orders, invoices, and other requirements related to contract and subcontract management.
- Ensure compliance with standards of performance, safety policies, and procedures.
- Assist in human resources and management activities on the operational side of the programs, determining the staff needed to accomplish operational tasks.
- Experience: Ten (10) years supervisory experience in the field of Public Safety / Emergency Management.
- Seven (7) years of relevant experience in the administration of Federal / State / Local Recovery Programs Project Management.
- Ability to meet the necessary qualifications and suitability requirements to obtain and maintain a FEMA badge, which may include background checks and security clearances as required by FEMA.
- FEMA Trainings that need to be completed before or directly after hire:
- ICS 100, 200, 300, 400
- IS 700, 800
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field such as Public Administration, Homeland Security, Program Management, etc.
- Professional Registration or Certification will be evaluated for fit and can include Social Work, Professional Engineer (PE), Registered Architect, Project Management, and Certified Emergency Manager (CEM), etc.
- Experience in emergency management and disaster response, public health, and/or disaster recovery
- Experience deploying for response and recovery clients.
- Experience managing large complex project teams and working closely with disaster survivors.
- Ability to brief FEMA Sr. Leadership and manage intergovernmental relationships during the recovery process.
- Office Locations: Office locations are often either owned by the client we work with or by IEM. All candidates are expected to follow any rules and regulations of the office in which they are required to work for that project.
- Remote Work: All remote work environments require the ability to maintain minimum Internet speeds of 25 Mbps upload and 3 Mbps download, as well as a ping rate of 100 ms or less during working hours, regardless of the type and number of devices using your Internet connection. You must also have account privileges and access to your Internet service provider account during working hours for the purposes of maintaining the Internet connection, if needed.
- Situational Awareness: During site assessments, conditions may be austere, including prolonged exposure to excessive heat and cold, prolonged sun exposure, and no electricity, heat, or air conditioning. Other potential risks include air quality issues, standing water, mosquitoes, snakes, debris, and other potential exposures.
- Physical Requirements: Site assessments may require extensive walking and standing for long periods of time; working in small spaces, tunnels, and ditches; and climbing ladders.
- Starting salary based on location and experience: $130,000 - $140,000
