Job Description
The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, willing to call customers as needed, and able to manage multiple financial processes with accuracy and professionalism.
There is flexibility in the specific days and hours that work is completed, but working the majority of time during regular business hours and a consistent weekly meeting(s) with the Senior Staff Accountant are essential for this role. This work can not be done solely in the evenings and on weekends, therefore, is not appropriate for someone already working a full time job.

Responsibilities
- Prepare and send accurate customer invoices in accordance with contract terms.
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding customer balances to support timely collections.
- Track incoming payments across multiple systems and apply them to appropriate accounts.
- Review and categorize company credit card expenses with proper documentation.
- Assist with month-end close tasks, including journal entries and account reviews.
- Record bank transactions and assist in reconciling bank statements.
- Support accounts payable functions, including entering bills and assisting with expense reporting.
- Maintain accurate internal tracking documents and systems
- Experience with invoicing, accounts receivable, or collections
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
- Proficiency with spreadsheets and data entry (e.g., Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Familiarity with accounting or bookkeeping software: Quickbooks Online, Bill.com/Divvy, Stripe, Gusto (preferred)
- Understanding of credit card expense reporting and reconciliation (preferred)
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree (or working toward one) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred)
- The hourly contract rate range for candidates is: $25-$40/hr, depending on experience
- This is a part-time contractor role (15-20 hours per week)
