Kettle is a team of passionate, fearless creatives focused on delivering great products, redefining best-practices, and providing new opportunities for our clients.


We are seeking a part-time, 3 day per week, onsite Video Editor to create engaging social media content for the subscription-based wellness service of a global tech company. This position involves editing short-form Instagram Reels, and long-form videos, ensuring each project aligns with brand standards and social media trends.


The Video Editor will work closely with our production, creative, and strategy teams, and directly with the client. Our team produces a high volume of content daily in a fast-paced studio environment, requiring efficiency and attention to detail. You will also create multiple social media reels in a single day, maintaining a fast turnaround time without compromising quality.

This role will start as a 3 month contract with the potential to extend. The team will be in-person 3 days per week in the Santa Monica area. Onsite required.


Candidates should have:

  • A strong portfolio showing professional motion graphics, video, and editing projects.
  • 3-5 years of experience editing video with a fully-featured NLE such as Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere.
  • Proven experience editing for Creator Instagram accounts using Instagram Reels, Edits or CapCut; Understanding of short-form content for social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts), social trends, and content styles.
  • A strong understanding of delivery specifications, including frame rates, aspect ratios, and safe zones tailored for various social media platforms.
  • Excellent sound editing skills, including music selection.
  • Strong knowledge of color workflows including camera LUTs, color spaces, SDR/HDR workflows and ability to color correct within Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in media management, encompassing formatting, file export, and distribution.

  • Oversee multiple editing projects concurrently, ensuring adherence to high-quality standards and timely delivery of deliverables.
  • Efficiently implement stakeholder feedback to deliver polished, final videos, quickly making edits, adjustments, and refinements to produce multiple versions of content.
  • Apply social media best practices, including the use of closed captions and dynamic motion graphics.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure brand consistency and quality.
  • Collaborate with assistant editors and other post-production staff to maintain the quality and consistency of the final product.
  • Stay updated on social media trends, ensuring content is relevant and engaging.
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of curiosity with a drive to identify opportunities for scaling and continuously improving workflows.


The target hourly range is $60 - 75. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set and level of experience.
