18+ Site Director – IDEA Thrive
Role Mission: The Site Director of the 18+ Program will oversee all 18+ programming for the Rio Grande Valley to maximize meaningful transition experiences which are aligned to real life. The Site Director of the 18+ program will also be responsible to ensure 100% of young adults with disabilities in the program matriculate to a post-secondary option of their choice; which also fits their individual transition strengths and areas of interest. He/She will build strong collaborative partnerships with community stakeholders, including South Texas College, Work Force Solutions, Vocational Rehabilitation, community-based learning locations, and job-site environments. He/She will also manage and coach all 18+ site staff as they support students served through this innovative transition programming to ensure the transition model is being implemented to its full potential.
Location:
This is a full-time onsite position located in the Rio Grande Valley. Preference will be given to candidates who live in the (Region), or who are willing to relocate.

Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $70,500 and $82,100, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity. This role is also eligible for performance pay based on organizational performance and goal attainment.

Essential Duties
What You’ll Do -- Accountabilities
Ensure successful implementation of transitional experiences so 100% of enrolled young adults meet 90% of their annual IEP goals
- Create collaborative business partnerships with Special Education Team (teacher(s), LSSP, SLP, OT, College Counselor, etc.) from previous campus to align on transition plan and IEP goals
- Build capacity and manage expectations around operating mechanisms between site staff and outside community stakeholders to maintain fidelity of individual student needs/goals
- Coach and develop site staff to read, analyze and respond to IEP data tracking to prioritize the highest leverage next action steps
- Observe and coach site staff to holding highly effective data conversations with young adults, parents, and community stakeholders to increase young adult IEP, transition, and post-secondary outcomes
- Support site staff as they norm on and execute clear criteria for success for implementation of all 18+ programming through proactive and responsive training mechanisms
- Align to and oversee systems of accountability to ensure site staff ownership of all implementation criteria
- Ensure site staff are collaborating regularly with outside stakeholders (WFS, VR, STC, job-sites) to discuss individual transition plans and create action plans to keep the young adult on track
- Collaborate and communicate with young adults and their guardians regularly to track any interest or plan changes
- Offer meaningful job-site opportunities by partnering with community businesses, which are aligned to student(s) interests and abilities
- Young adults in the 18+ program will obtain at least 2 industry-based certifications through our partnership with South Texas College
- Partner with community business, which allow students to practice the skills gained through South Texas College industry-based trainings
- Train and allow young adults to regularly access and practice the utilization public transportation
- Create and maintain strong partnerships with Work Force Solutions and Vocational Rehabilitation for alignment of services during the program and post-graduation
- Meet 100% enrollment target by Day 1, and ensure average ADA of 97.5%
- Accurately document, report, and receive reimbursement for 100% of SHARs-related services provided to students
- Partner with Transportation team to develop and operate transportation options that deliver students to the 18+ site and work sites on time, at minimal cost, using as many Job Coaches and other site employees as possible
- Hire, schedule, and support site staff such that a minimal number of individuals are required to complete all work, and partner with IDEA Toros Assistant Principal of Operations and other staff to minimize need for additional 18+ Site staff
- Ensure at least 90% of all 18+ participants meet all completion requirements for at least 2 industry certificates, and at least 90% meet all completion requirements for General Employability Skills, as determined by the Texas Education Agency
- Ensure 100% of site staff are coached towards mastery and rated on the 8 Super-Power GET rows using corresponding teacher pathways
- Support quality control mechanisms that will inform strategic planning and response to site staff needs such as Pulse Checks, Informal Observations and Business Partnerships with internal departments
- Create and facilitate high leverage professional development sessions aimed at building knowledge and skills necessary for site staff to successfully learn and grow with IDEA
- Build capacity and manage expectations around operating mechanisms which will increase communication and alignment between site staff, community stakeholders, and guardians
Required Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree (required); Master’s Degree (preferred)
- Experience: 2+ years teaching experience, Special Education field; 2+ years experience in coaching/managing individuals or teams
- License or Certification: Special Education Certification through TEA (required)
