Role

The Indirect Lending Quality Control Specialist audits new indirect loans to ensure the integrity of loan documentation, the conditions of underwriting are met, and regulatory compliance to Rogue Credit Union guidelines or policy are adhered to. Provides management with detailed reports for file maintenance. Supports the Indirect Relationship Manager by reviewing dealer files. Audits and reports on third party loans to ensure loans are complaint and meeting regulatory requirements. Remains current with all regulatory and credit union lending guidelines.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

50% Consistently analyzes recent indirect loans funded while reviewing a variety of loan quality control reports. Proactively prepares loan findings and communicates to management any significant discoveries.

20% Supports and backs up the Lending Systems Administrator with functionality and reporting of the Loan Origination System (LOS) and primary Internal Operating System. Onboard new dealer relationships using internal systems and procedures. Monitors dealer relationships to identify performance trends and liquidity concerns. Audits third-party loan packages to ensure they meet all regulatory requirements.

10% Proactively maintains current knowledge on lending guidelines, procedures, regulations, and other related changes. Communicates and trains lending staff on lending-related changes. Analyzes reports and processes for efficiency and accuracy. Identifies improvements in lending processes that leverage technology and automation. Makes recommendations to management on how to make improvements.

10% Supports and assists with the other advanced functions and projects of the Indirect Lending Department, which includes but is not limited to title processing, branch lending support, etc.

10% Proactively performs other related duties as required.

Knowledge And Skills

Experience: Three years to five years of similar or related experience.

Education: A high school education or GED.

Interpersonal Skills: A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive contact with others and is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating, influencing, or training others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others. Utilizing multiple communication mediums, including but not limited to, electronic delivery and telephone.

Other Skills: Lending support experience, including some underwriting skills for auditing purposes, are preferred. Strong member service. Good time management/organizational skills. Proven team player. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to share findings and speak in front of groups, good eye for detail and quality. Strong computer skills with Word, Excel, Outlook and other relevant software.

Physical Requirements: Some lifting required (up to 30 pounds), continuous sitting, occasional standing and occasional walking. Finger dexterity while using computer. Occasional talking and hearing in person and on the telephone. Continuous clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and continuous clarity of vision at 20 feet or more. Ability to drive a motor vehicle or arrange for own transportation.

Work Environment: Normal workday with occasional overtime. May require working Saturdays or Sunday. Exposed to potentially hazardous condition, i.e., robbery.
