Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Assistant Buyer to join our rapidly growing Retail Operations team. This role supports buying operations across e-commerce, stadium retail, and warehouse fulfillment. You'll work in a fast-paced environment that blends creativity and analytics, with direct exposure to planning, vendor strategy, and cross-functional execution. Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of seasonal buying plans and merchandise strategies
  • Assist in product selection, pricing strategies, and inventory management decisions
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships and assist in negotiating terms, costs, and delivery schedules
  • Track and analyze sales performance, inventory levels, and market trends to inform buying decisions
  • Process and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery
  • Create and maintain merchandise reporting tools to track key performance metrics
  • Participate in product development meetings and provide input on new merchandise opportunities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and operations, to align on product launches
  • Support inventory flow across channels by coordinating with the warehouse and fulfillment teams
  • Assist with SKU management and product categorization across multiple categories
  • Contribute to operational calendar maintenance for product launches and events
  • Support visual merchandising efforts, including photo samples and planograms
  • Aid in budget tracking and help reconcile invoice discrepancies with the inventory and finance teams
  • Participate in cross-departmental planning meetings to ensure alignment across retail functions
  • Support the Sr. Director of Retail Merchandise in daily operations and special projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, Retail Management, or a related field
  • 0-2 years of experience in retail buying, merchandising, or a related field
  • Proficiency in Shopify and a basic understanding of inventory management systems
  • Strong analytical mindset with excellent Excel/spreadsheet skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Passion for sports and understanding of fan merchandise trends
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting preferred
  • Familiarity with sports retail operations and event-based merchandising is a plus
  • Experience with collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams, Slack, or project management platforms is a plus

Compensation

The offer range for this full-time, non-exempt role is $41,600 - $45,760. Final offers for this role will be made within the parameters of the salary range provided. Years of experience, skills, and other factors are considered when determining the salary offered. Total compensation & offer package will include the following:
