The Procedure Coordinator is responsible for scheduling patients for in-house procedures after authorization is approved or deemed unnecessary. The procedure coordinator works closely with the authorization team, which hands-off patients after authorization have been received. The Procedure Coordinator maintains an excellent working knowledge of neurology procedures, clinical instructions, authorization and insurance requirements, and provider and technician scheduling preferences.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Schedules patients for neurological procedures following hand-off from prior authorization team upon authorization approval; explains clinical instructions and answers patient questions with compassion to provide excellent patient-centric service; receives and handles requests to reschedule procedures
- Maintains robust knowledge of procedure scheduling guidelines, insurance requirements, provider and technician schedules, and provider preferences
- Deeply understands procedure medical instructions and insurance and authorization requirements to ensure existing patients receive continuity of care
- Associates degree and/or healthcare certificate preferred
- At least one year of medical office experience
- At least one year of medical procedure scheduling experience preferred
- Furnish proof of COVID-19 vaccination
- 8 hour shift
- Monday - Friday
