Position Purpose and Objectives
Responsible ensuring that outstanding service is delivered to both internal and external members. Position performs day-to-day internal Account Maintenance operations and adheres to Texas Debt Collection and Bankruptcy Codes. The objective is to execute and optimize processes and placements that mitigate losses through the sales of Credit Union owned vehicles.

Position Purpose and Objectives
Responsible ensuring that outstanding service is delivered to both internal and external members. Position performs day-to-day internal Account Maintenance operations and adheres to Texas Debt Collection and Bankruptcy Codes. The objective is to execute and optimize processes and placements that mitigate losses through the sales of Credit Union owned vehicles.
Major Duties And Essential Functions
- Understand legal requirements for repossessions, bankruptcies, and third-party placements. Ensure proper notice is given to members in accordance with state law.
- Be able to review and understand collection processes and notes
- Assign and track repossessions, transports, and remarketing efforts.
- Performs assigned clerical duties, as assigned by Remarketing Management, for accounts requiring repossession of collateral, investigative matters, or other pertinent services.
- Ensure vehicles are being transported and properly sold at each designated auction in a timely manner, and all internal tracking records are up to date.
- Work with the collection department to assist members in redeeming repossessed vehicles once approved by Collection Management.
- Work with repo agents or auctions to assist members in redeeming repossessed vehicles once approved by Collection Management.
- Possess the ability to review vehicles and make recommendations for floor prices and final sale price of repossessed units with the remarketing team.
- Work with Auctions and wholesale buyers in the sale of repossessed vehicles
- Be able to complete basic teller functions such as cutting checks, depositing checks, and make transfers from GL’s to accounts.
- Receives and processes all mail, titles, billings and payments received pertaining to repossessed accounts.
- Ensure funds are received for sold vehicles, title work is completed, and any other required documentation to is completed.
- Maintain Inventory database of repossessed vehicles
- Properly flags and notates each account and considers whether to stop automatic payments and deposits.
- Ensure Refunds of lending products sold have been applied to the account if applicable.
- Assist remarketing team in all aspects of the department as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Specific Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required For This Position:
- MUST have strong understanding of Credit Union lending programs, policies, and default enforcement clauses
- Thorough knowledge of collections, servicing, foreclosure, bankruptcy procedures, and legal processes and policies
- Previous experience regarding repossession, remarketing, collateral protection insurance, auto auctions, insurance claims process, and third-party management preferred
- Analytic ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines
- Ability to assess a vehicles condition and value by reviewing pictures and data provided by vendors
- An ability to work individually on a project or in a team environment
- Strong computer application skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, collections software, and inventory tracking software
- Excellent written and verbal skills required
- Good judgment, initiative and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to handle and resolve complex issues with little assistance
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Proficient telephone, member service, communication and documentation skills required.
- Must have the ability to work a flexible work schedule (including evenings and weekends)
