Smart Data Solutions, a leading provider of data management, claim routing and workflow solutions to health plans and TPAs, is looking for a Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team!

What you’ll be doing?

Testing & Validation

  • Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test cases, test plans, and scripts.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing of our product implementation.
  • Provide test status reports for end-to-end testing along with UAT and production validation.
  • Collaborate closely with developers and product managers to understand requirements and ensure test coverage.
  • Identify, log, and track software defects.
  • Validate data integrity and interoperability with third-party health systems.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure testing practices align with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain detailed records of testing procedures, results, and defect resolutions.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of validation documentation, SOPs, and audit trails.
  • Lead or participate in external audits, inspections, and certifications as required.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with cross-functional teams including engineering, product, compliance, and customer support.
  • Communicate QA findings and risks clearly to stakeholders and suggest actionable improvements.
  • Provide QA input during requirements gathering and implementation design phases

Process Improvement

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes and testing methodologies.
  • Propose and implement automation strategies to streamline test execution and improve test coverage.
  • Participate in post-release evaluations and retrospectives to refine QA strategies.

What we’re looking for?

Required Skills

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics, Life Sciences, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in quality assurance or software testing, preferably in healthcare or health tech environments.
  • Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Strong experience with reviewing and interpreting data on medical claim forms: HCFA, CMS1500, UB04 and ADA will be preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with Medical Code sets ICD 10, HCPCS, CPT and Modifiers
  • Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and scripting languages
  • Familiarity with HIPAA, HL7, FHIR, and other healthcare standards is a plus.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Preferred Skills & Certifications

  • QA certification.
  • Understanding of risk-based testing in regulated environments.
  • Experience with cloud-based platforms and CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins).

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
