Description

This position supports the U.S. Army’s Standard Army Ammunition System (SAAS). This role plays a key part in verifying the functionality, performance, and reliability of mission-critical software supporting global Army ammunition logistics operations. The Test Engineer will collaborate closely with developers, analysts, and users to design and execute test strategies that ensure a stable and secure product. Duties include:

  • Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test plans, scripts, and procedures for SAAS functionality.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and system-level testing to validate software changes.
  • Collaborate with developers and analysts to understand requirements and ensure test coverage.
  • Maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, and defect tracking.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects using issue tracking tools (e.g., Jira).
  • Participate in Agile sprint activities including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
  • Review system specifications and contribute to requirement refinement from a testability perspective.
  • Support testing across multiple environments (development, staging, production).
  • Ensure compliance with Army standards, cybersecurity guidelines, and test documentation best practices.
  • Assist with test automation initiatives and contribute to continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) workflows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance or test engineering.
  • Experience testing complex enterprise systems, preferably in a logistics or government environment.
  • Familiarity with test tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Postman, JMeter, JIRA, TestRail).
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain a favorable background investigation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience testing U.S. Army logistics or ammunition systems (SAAS experience highly desirable).
  • Familiarity with RMF, IAVA compliance, and DoD cybersecurity practices.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git), DevSecOps pipelines, or CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins).
  • ISTQB or other relevant software testing certifications.
  • Exposure to data validation testing, SQL queries, or back-end database testing.
