  • The Operations Business Planning analysts are responsible for developing, analyzing, forecasting and executing on the division’s business plans; building and implementing relationships with internal and external partners; identifying specific revenue driving and cost savings opportunities; and providing thought leadership.
  • It serves as a resource for strategic planning and analytical needs throughout the Operational division, partnering with Sr leaders, front line leaders, Operational business units, and partners throughout the airline to deliver on business plans and root cause analyses as quickly and effectively as possible

What You'll Do

  • Leads the planning and development for the division’s strategic initiatives, business plans, and relationships with internal and external partners to ultimately drive long term growth for Airline Operations
  • Identifies current and future partner opportunities, compiling and presenting cross-functional impacts, aligning and prioritizing with business owners, finance and IT counterparts, and monitors the outcomes
  • Develops operational insights, reporting, and presentation efforts for senior leaders, Board of Directors, and other company stakeholders
  • Proactively monitors and tracks operational performance metrics, and provide regular updates for senior leaders on weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
  • Works closely with operations to ensure infrastructure is prepared for future growth
  • Manages ad hoc projects as required – ranging from small requests to multi-year projects
  • Interfaces cross-functionally with all Operations departments to support business development
  • Maintains a nuanced opinion of current dynamics in the airline industry
  • Ability and willingness to travel

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience/training
  • 3 years of experience in airline, consulting work, or equivalent industries

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline including Operation Research, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, or Business Analytics
  • 4 years of airline experience using data analysis and quantitative modeling techniques

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking and written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with the airline operations metrics and related operational procedures/processes
  • Ability to structure an analysis from scratch with minimal guidance
  • Demonstrated experience in taking complex analysis and turning them into actionable insights
  • Demonstrated experience working under tight deadlines Adaptable, comfortable with unstructured work and occasional shifting priorities
  • Knowledge of data processing/manipulation languages such SQL, R, Python in large database environments is a plus
