Job Summary
Evergreen Healthcare Group is currently seeking a Vice President of Food and Nutrition Servics. Primary responsibilities include oversight and management of Food and Nutrition Services (FANS) Department including sanitation and infection control, menu planning and development, and cost containment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manages Nutrition related formulary/order guides and menu systems for the company
- Develop, plan, organize, implement and audit both current and future nutrition related strategies
- Determines equipment, staffing, and budgetary needs of the department
- Monitors appropriate current standards of practices and assures quality service and compliance with State/Federal regulations
- Plan, organize, coordinate and direct FANS programs to enhance quality of resident care in accordance with current rules, regulations and guidelines that govern Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living Services.
- Responsible for the development, review, and revision of FANS policies and procedures to assure quality services and compliance with State/Federal regulations and current standards of practice. Achieve regulatory compliance challenges.
- Plan and direct data-driven and proactive quality improvement programs to improve the overall quality of the nutrition services provided to residents.
- Mentors field support dietitians; provides a leadership style that empowers and encourages decision making at points closet to our residents.
- Assess current programs and staff against the strategy and make changes in a manner that leverages the capabilities that exist, while upgrading talent and capabilities where appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with operations to recommend resources to place sufficient, qualified FANS staff.
- Monitors survey inspection results. Supports Divisional/Regional FANS staff to put plans in place to correct identified areas and revent future occurences.
- Assure each facility achieves ongoing substantial compliance in food and nutrition services with all regulatory and licensing bodies.
- Meets with Divisionall Dietitians, dietiticians, and FANS managers to review the delivery of care and strategies to facilitate cost effective processes.
- Coordinate and facilitate relationship with ancillary suppliers.
- Work collaboratively with the executive leadership team on identifying and implementing key FANS strategies
- Work collaboratively with divisional leadership to identify and implement Key FANs strategies.
- Participate in corporate committees as directed such as Corporate Compliance, Quality Assurance Performance.
- Coordinates with DVP/RVPs of Operations to ensure Food and Nutrition Services is delivered in a cost-effective manner.

- Extensive knowledge of regulatory guidelines.

- Able to effectively convey the FANS position of the organization that is clear, concise and can be effectively utilized through the organization.
- Expert level of knowledge of State and Federal regulations and the survey process.
- Extensive experience in formulating and directing the Food and Nutrition Services policy and driving implementation of strategies and procedures.
- Able to communicate effectively in English, with personnel at all levels of the organization, with residents and their friends and family, with physicians, regulators and other healthcare partners.
- Ability to maintain financial records of expenditures of the department. Able to understand budgets and facilitate cost effective strategies
- Ability to assess and problem solve high stress level situations, to meet the needs of the community, residents, and FANS staff. Ability to develop plans for improving FANS systems and quality of care that can be implemented with others. Able to evaluate results of the plan and modify it as needed. Adept negotiation skills with the ability to influence diverse audiences.
- Required: Bachelor of Science in Food and Nutrition/ Dietetics (Masters degree preferred)
- Required: Current, unencumbered registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration
- Required: Strategic, proactive leader with a minimum of 10 years progressively expanding leadership experience in a skilled nursing, multi-site setting.
- Required: Minimum of five years as a senior level management role.
- Required: Proven success leading change and quality improvement.
