Essential Functions
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates on-site at a designated construction project and includes work in both the field and a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing some duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position may be performed in outside weather conditions and the employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak, visually observe conditions on the job site, and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, kneel, stoop, crouch, bend, crawl; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and use arms fully to reach for, handle and manipulate tools, materials, and other objects; coordinate the movements of eyes, hands and fingers; climb and maintain body balance on ladders and scaffolding; maintain safe body balance on uneven surfaces; negotiate changes in elevation while walking on a construction site, and access multiple levels of height and depth as well as access and work in confined spaces.
The employee must frequently lift and move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time non-union position. Days and hours of work vary and may include evening and weekend hours as required.
Travel
This position requires occasional to frequent travel.
Required Education And Experience
Bachelor level degree preferred with at least five (5) years of commercial construction (or relevant) experience required.

Summary/Objective

Essential Functions
- Manage the owner-architect interface and planning and installation for electrical, HVAC, controls, plumbing, process piping, fire/life safety, and fire protection design/construction coordination;
- Act as a liaison to the commissioning agent and client regarding MEP concerns;
- Conduct or participate in MEP training opportunities for project teams and subcontractor partners;
- Work closely with the Quality team to schedule, facilitate and document all quality aspects of the electrical and mechanical equipment so that all projects might have a MEP advantage;
- Work with the customers design team to coordinate the MEP design requirements, ensuring that coordinate documentation is provided to the required standard and time lines;
- Visit project sites assigned and provide site inspections of MEP installations;
- Monitor for adherence to plans and specifications, contractual requirements, code compliance and compliance with industry accepted standards;
- Process and forward weekly activity reports to the PE, PM and Superintendent;
- Participate in the submittal and change order process for MEP phases;
- Assist Project Team to interpret MEP drawings and specifications;
- Assist with MEP problem resolution;
- Provide technical leadership in reviewing the constructability of the MEP design to meet the purpose and functionality of the building to the client’s requirements;
- Supervise electrical and mechanical vendors and verify their work meets Jaynes’ high standards and the design intent to ensure quality control;
- Assist with project RFIs, CCDs, As-Builts, Technical submittals, all reports and close out documentation related to the MEP trades and commissioning process;
- Support the owner-architect-MEP designer in planning and installation of mechanical, Electrical, and low voltage systems;
- Manage MEP Design and lead coordination efforts;
- Act as a technical subject matter expert on questions related to the MEP design; and
- Establish and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred but not required;
- 5+ years of commercial construction (or relevant) experience;
- Working knowledge of MEP systems and controls and how they function;
- Working knowledge of building codes, DOH requirements and requirements of other recognized authorities in the industry;
- Strong grasp of mechanical and electrical engineering concepts;
- Ability to read and understand MEP drawings and specifications;
- Physical ability to evaluate progress at construction sites;
- Ability to work on multiple projects and travel as needed;
- Ability to identify and resolve complex issues;
- Proficient computer skills and good understanding of scheduling; and
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with contractors and fellow employees.

- Must pass a pre-employment screen, including but not limited to: drug and alcohol screen, background check, motor vehicle records check, reference check and physical (if applicable).
- Current and valid driver’s license in the state of permanent residence (must be insurable by Jaynes automobile insurance carrier in order to drive a Jaynes vehicle).
- Must be eligible per Fleet Safety Management policy to operate a company vehicle or a personal vehicle for company purposes.
- Proof of current completion of a general course recognized by Jaynes in “Hazardous Substances – Recognition and Protection”, if applicable. (Or must attend next available class.)
