**Major Duties**

  • Serves as Distribution Center Commander's technical expert on operations and all organizational functions related to deployment.
  • Responsible for directing the work of a large distribution organization and is held accountable for the success of specific line and staff programs, projects, functions, or activities.
  • Develops and administers major Distribution Center programs related to receipt, storage, issue, pack, kitting, shipment, inventory, and care of stock in storage of general supplies, as well as commodities requiring special handling and processing.
  • Will be required to develop and implement solutions for new business opportunities or as a result of changes in warfighter operations.
  • Prepares standard operating procedures (SOP) for supply personnel regarding supply procedures, inventory control management practices, and shipping/transportation functions.
  • Directs and conducts administrative and personnel management with responsibilities in labor relations, employee recognition, position management, budget, equal opportunity programs, planning, scheduling, and work coordination.

**Qualification Summary**

  • Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Performing analytical assignments involving specific issues associated with distribution operations to include obligated funding for specific projects; Conducting studies to evaluate operations within an organization to determine cause of problems and develop ways to make improvements; and Applying continuous improvement values, principles, and tools to Distribution Center operations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
