Description

The Sales Engineer (Northeast) will provide customer support while providing technical and mechanical sales support. Incumbent must be able to multi-task and prioritize their work according to business needs. The Territory Sales Engineer must develop new technical expertise and commercial opportunities for products/systems and the HVAC marketplace with an exceptionally strong commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

The Sales Engineer for the Northeast US will have multiple Roles and Responsibilities including, but not limited to the following:

  • Lead by example with a Safety-First mindset in every task
  • Direct interface with customers and sales representatives to obtain vital technical, project and product specifications.
  • Customer and follow ups on project release status and updates
  • Develop and prepare technical proposals addressing and satisfying product solution specifications
  • Prepare and submit cost summaries with the proper specifications and applications to meet project requirements
  • Provide technical support to sales representatives, engineers, mechanical contractors and customers
  • Maintain documentation regarding price quotations, decisions, progress and result of activities
  • Respond to customers’ inquiries with cost-effective solutions to meet project specifications
  • Promote our brand at every opportunity
  • Interface with Williams engineers and production to ensure competitive pricing, quality and service
  • Possess expert knowledge of Williams products and other applications used by customers
  • Conduct business with minimal to no supervision
  • Provide written oral updates and necessary information to sales reps, associates, customers, clients, and project managers
  • Assist in the development and implementation of best practices and procedures; and promote a results-oriented atmosphere within the company
  • Communicate and work in concert with staff towards successful completion of projects and total customer satisfaction
  • Use established standards and procedures for project reporting documentation
  • Maintain agency certification data reporting
  • Prepare and present project status reports to keep management appraised of project progress, needs and/or issues
  • Consult with management and review project proposals towards project objectives and goals, timeframes, funding limitations and required resources
  • Provide leadership, motivation and mentoring to associates, reps and customers
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required

Required

Position Requirements:

  • HVAC industry experience is required, preferably in sales or manufacturer representation.
  • An Engineering degree: however, candidates with extensive technical expertise may substitute formal education if supported by rigorous HVAC training.
  • Working knowledge of personal computers and web-hosted applications

Preferred

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field
  • 5+ years’ experience with hydronic systems and/or applied HVAC products
  • Proven experience and knowledge of HVAC fan coil industry
