ACCOUNTING CLERK

Reports To: Controller Department: Accounting & Finance

Classification: Non-Exempt/Hourly

General Job Summary

We're looking for an Accounting Clerk to join our small, tight-knit team that keeps the numbers running behind the scenes of our growing restaurant group. This role is perfect for someone who’s detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable taking initiative. You'll help manage daily financial tasks with diligence and accuracy while collaborating with a team that believes in hospitality—both in our restaurants and in how we work together.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

  • Verify and process accounts payable and receivable transactions.
  • Research, resolve, and respond to accounting questions.
  • Compile, sort, and match invoices and checks.
  • Maintain, verify, and update financial records
  • Contact individuals with delinquent accounts.
  • Reconciles bank statements by comparing statements with general ledger.
  • Help provide and prepare information for reports in a timely manner
  • Protect the organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Perform general office support like filing and other administrative tasks
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Additional tasks as assigned.

Personal And Organizational Skills

  • Set priorities and manage workflow to ensure efficient, timely and accurate processing of transactions and other responsibilities.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Maintain cordial and effective relationship with unit-level management, co-workers, carriers, vendors, and other business contacts.
  • Interact with others effectively by utilizing good communication skills, cooperating purposefully, and providing information and guidance, as needed, to achieve business goals

Additional Skills And Responsibilities

  • Familiarity with basic accounting principles and procedures.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Experience in QuickBooks preferred
  • Critical thinking and good judgment to quickly determine and prioritize key issues
  • Attention to detail

Education And Experience

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Associates in business preferred
  • Prior experience in fast paced office a plus
