Position Overview:
The Business Analyst (BA) is a key role on the Okta Professional Services team responsible for leading the effort associated with gathering, analyzing and documenting business and functional requirements for the deployment of Okta Identity and Access Management (IAM) for customers. This role acts as a liaison between key customer stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that the implementation meets business needs, and adheres to best practices in identity and access management. The BA is also responsible for ensuring requirements traceability through the duration of the project.
Please note, you must be located in Mexico City and able to communicate proficiently with English speaking clients to be considered for this role.

$161,000—$241,000 USD

Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
- Business Requirements Development
- Stakeholder Engagement & Requirements Elicitation
- Identify and engage with key stakeholders including (but not limited to): IT, security teams, digital & product owners, business units and end-users.
- Conduct interviews and workshops to gather requirements and understand current IAM processes and pain points.
- Elicit detailed business and functional requirements through various techniques such as requirements gathering workshops, brainstorming, focus groups, and document analysis.
- Analysis & Requirements Documentation
- Analyze current state processes and systems to identify gaps and areas for improvement.
- Evaluate the feasibility of various solutions and provide recommendations based on cost, time and resource considerations.
- Document detailed business requirements, functional requirements, and non-functional requirements. Ensure requirements are clearly articulated, complete, and aligned with business needs.
- Create business process flow diagrams to capture and communicate requirements clearly.
- Create necessary functional solution design diagrams to visually represent the people and process flows as depicted by the documented business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
- Traceability
- Ensure all requirements are documented in adherence to Okta’s Business Requirements Document (BRD) template, and are in a traceable and maintainable format, linking each requirement to specific business needs and project outputs.
- Ensure requirements are traceable throughout the project lifecycle, from initial requirements gathering activities to implementation and testing.
- Use traceability matrices to track status and fulfillment of requirements, ensuring that all business and functional requirements are met.
- Conduct reviews and audits to confirm that requirements are being addressed appropriately during each project phase.
- Project Lifecycle Support
- Project Coordination
- Support the project manager (PM) in developing project plans, timelines, and resource allocations for business analyst related activities
- Monitor project progress for business analyst related activities, and assist the PM with reporting on respective milestones, risks and issues.
- Technical Translation & Implementation Support
- Work closely with the customer and Okta Professional Services Technical team members (Technical Architect, Technical Consultant) to assist with the translation of business requirements into technical specifications.Ensure proposed solutions align with business needs and comply with industry standards.
- Provide oversight with technical consultants during build phase activities to clarify any functional or business needs questions as it relates to technical configuration of captured requirements.
- Support reconciliation of any business requirements variances that may not have been originally captured if discovered during the build phase.
- Quality Assurance Transition
- Develop acceptance criteria for each documented business requirement to validate the implementation meets the documented requirements, ensuring traceability to documented and agreed upon requirements.
- Work with Quality Assurance (QA) team members to ensure they can consume acceptance criteria to develop test cases.
- Work with QA leads to enable them to advise the customer on coordination of user acceptance testing (UAT) and to gather feedback that ensures the solution meets user needs.
- Post-Implementation Support
- After Go-Live Activities
- For a predefined period of time as specified by the project scope, the BA will work along with a scaled-down project team (PM, TC, QA) to support customer questions and triage issues should they arise.
- Works with technical & quality assurance team members to update documentation if and when changes occur to the system after go-live of the Okta implementation.
Technical Skills:
- IAM Knowledge: Strong understanding of Identity and access management principles and best practices.
- Okta Expertise: Proficient in Okta's WIC/CIC platforms and offerings, including its features, functionalities and integration capabilities.
- Technical Acumen: Ability to understand technical specifications and communicate them to non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify issues and propose effective solutions.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail in documenting requirements and validating solutions.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Documentation Skills: Strong writing skills to create clear and concise documentation and reports.
- Organization Skills: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and projects.
- Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Degree: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Okta Certified Professional/Administrator/Consultant or Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) are preferred.
- Requirement Accuracy: Accuracy and completeness of requirements documentation.
- Stakeholder Satisfaction: Level of satisfaction among stakeholders with the requirements gathering process and final implementation.
- Project Timeliness: Ability to meet project deadlines and milestones.
- Solution Quality: Quality and effectiveness of the implemented Okta solution in meeting business needs.
- User Adoption: Rate of user adoption and satisfaction with the implemented Okta solution.
- Traceability Effectiveness: Success in maintaining requirements traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
