Description

Purpose: Telecommunications Consultant whose primary responsibilities include organizing and leading telecom project kickoff calls, conducting network inventory reviews, and pursuing expense reduction via auditing, negotiation, right-sizing/optimization efforts, and service modernization through existing or alternative supplier sourcing, procurement and deployment.

Summary: The consultant will interface directly with the clients to identify needs and requirements, strategize on acceptable paths to savings, and help mobilize existing SIB people, technology, and tools to meet their criteria. The consultant may suggest service upgrades, standardizations, consolidations, conversions, or simple rate reductions and renewals as they see fit. The consultant is also responsible to ensure the new rates are properly implemented and billed correctly by the vendors.

Essential Functions

  • Host client kickoff calls to determine a mutually agreeable plan of action
  • Take ownership of cost savings reviews seeing them through to a beneficial and expedient conclusion
  • Negotiate best-in-class rates and contract terms for our client's telecom services
  • Identify and obtain historical and ongoing credits for billing errors
  • Conduct network inventory efforts, for example, using their extensive telecom experience to work with on-site telecom technicians to identify redundant services for termination
  • Right-size and optimize existing services through coordinated call campaigns, utilization studies and modem ping efforts.
  • Implement savings and validate that they have gone into effect as projected/proposed
  • Evaluate and recommend vendor changes and consolidations when appropriate

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3-5 years of experience in the telecommunications industry
  • Self-motivated with the capability to work in an unstructured environment with a strong operational mindset, and customer service orientation
  • Excellent organizational and administrative orientation, extreme attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to work with employees on all levels both directly and remotely
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Microsoft 365, and Salesforce.com
  • Congenial, warm demeanor with internal clients and stakeholders via phone and email
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Physical Demands

  • Requires the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time, occasional stooping, and reaching.
  • May require lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Requires a normal range of vision and hearing with or without accommodations.
  • Position?is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
