Job Summary
A Food Sanitary Welder and Maintenance Industrial Mechanic part time is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and fabricating equipment in food manufacturing facilities while adhering to strict sanitary standards. Below are the key aspects of the role:

Pay Range for Welder - Part Time
The Welder - Part Time base pay range $30-35 USD/hourly. The listed salary range represents Kettle Cuisine’s good faith estimate for this position and represents the minimum and maximum for new hire salaries for the Lynn, MA location only. Ranges will be reviewed on a regular basis. An employee’s rate of pay within the range is determined by their qualifications, relevant experience, and demonstrated performance over time. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future and continued salary growth. The Welder - Part Time position is eligible for our comprehensive benefits package and is eligible for the annual discretionary bonus program up to 5%. Kettle Cuisine and all its legal entities comply with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws.

Job Summary
A Food Sanitary Welder and Maintenance Industrial Mechanic part time is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and fabricating equipment in food manufacturing facilities while adhering to strict sanitary standards. Below are the key aspects of the role:

Duties And Responsibilities
- Responsible for efficiently operating and maintaining all equipment, ensuring product quality, employee safety, food safety standards, and regulatory requirements are met or exceeded.
- Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, Production lines, Prep Areas, Dry and Finish Goods Storage, Chillers, Kitchen Ventilation, Fire and Safety Systems, Buildings and Grounds, CIP, and Bulk Chemicals.
- Supports adherence to the production schedule developed by the Scheduler, ensuring the highest levels of customer service and production efficiency by providing effective and efficient equipment operation and limited downtime.
- Perform TIG or MIG, welding on stainless steel components, and plasma cutting to meet food safety standards.
- Fabricate and repair piping, tanks, and other equipment used in food production.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Install and align industrial machinery based on blueprints and technical manuals.
- Disassemble and reassemble machinery for repairs or upgrades.
- Follow safety protocols and food-grade standards (e.g., SQF, GMP), Hot work permit, lock out tag
- Inspect equipment for contamination risks and ensure cleanliness.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities and parts inventory.
- Communicate issues with supervisors or team members.
- Completes schedule of Maintenance Task as assigned.
- Maintains equipment records and inspections in e-maintenance.
- Maintains Maintenance Shop, Electrical Room, Parts Room, and Production Floor as it relates to maintenance in a clean and organized manner.
- Maintains an effective line of communication between maintenance and operations. Provides current and correct information to the operation team on maintenance issues that relate to floor production.
- Assures that Employee Job Safety Accountabilities are completed. Identifies compliance issues promptly and reports to the appropriate individual.
- With QA, Safety, and others as appropriate, assist in executing action plans related to health/safety to ensure the highest level of compliance.
- Inspects equipment and systems to identify problems or issues.
- Consult blueprints or building plans to identify the best solution for systems or equipment issues.
- Work with various pieces of equipment that may require the use of scissor lifts, stepladders, and access to heights in general. Access to heights requires proper training and PPE.
- Performs other maintenance tasks as assigned.
- Thorough knowledge of general plumbing, electrical, and HVAC repair.
- Ability to read blueprints, building plans, and repair manuals.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in welding or industrial maintenance preferred.
- Experience: 2–5 years in a similar role, ideally within the food industry.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in TIG, MIG, Plasma use, and technical manuals.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces or at heights.
- Certifications: CWB welding certification or equivalent is an asset.
- Self-starter able to conceptualize and drive initiatives forward.
- Positive attitude and motivation by contributing to the team's overall success.
