The Opportunity

We are seeking a Director of Strategic Initiatives to join our team, focused on leading and optimizing projects across our facilities footprint. This individual will play a critical role in driving operational excellence, managing strategic initiatives tied to our warehouse and facilities infrastructure, and ensuring alignment between day-to-day execution and long-term organizational goals.

Serving as a strategic partner to the President and Operations Leadership, this role blends the vision and influence of a Chief of Staff with the disciplined execution of a Project Management Office (PMO) leader. The ideal candidate will stand up scalable planning systems, lead high-impact capital and operational projects, and ensure all facilities-related initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and with executive visibility.

Your Primary Responsibilities

We are currently seeking a Director of Strategic Initiatives. The Director of Strategic Initiatives is typically responsible for

  • Design and lead Aeroflow’s first enterprise-wide strategic planning cycle with a specific focus on facilities and operations, including initiative intake, prioritization, quarterly business reviews, and real-time executive dashboards.
  • Facilitate cross-functional planning sessions to establish and align strategic objectives across warehouse, logistics, and facilities teams, ensuring buy-in and accountability at every level.
  • Develop and maintain robust tools and frameworks to evaluate facility-related initiatives, including cost-benefit analyses, ROI models, business cases, and strategic opportunity scorecards.
  • Identify long-term facility needs based on growth forecasts and help establish scalable, flexible infrastructure plans.
  • Lead planning and execution for major and minor facilities-related initiatives, including site strategy, space optimization, and long-term infrastructure planning for Corporate HQ, regional remote offices, and distribution sites.
  • Establish and operate an effective Project Management Office (PMO) structure tailored to facilities and operational initiatives, ensuring high-impact projects are executed on time and within budget.
  • Direct the planning and delivery of cross-business-unit projects such as warehouse expansions, infrastructure upgrades, safety and compliance improvements, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Create and maintain a centralized portfolio of high-priority facilities and operations projects, with clear metrics, timelines, owners, and reporting tools.
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer and best practices across business units to avoid duplicative efforts and accelerate adoption of effective facility and logistics solutions.
  • Serve as a trusted liaison between the President, executive leadership, and operational teams—ensuring clarity, alignment, and progress across all facilities-related initiatives.
  • Develop and deliver concise, high-impact updates for leadership and board meetings on the status, risks, and outcomes of strategic initiatives.
  • Proactively identify execution gaps or misalignments in facilities and operations projects, and lead the effort to bring together the right stakeholders to resolve them.
  • Employee has an individual responsibility for knowledge of and compliance with laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Compliance is a condition of employment and is considered an element of job performance
  • Maintain HIPAA/patient confidentiality
  • Regular and reliable attendance as assigned by your schedule
  • Other job duties assigned

Skills for Success:

  • Ability to design and lead strategic planning processes; experience aligning multi-year infrastructure roadmaps to business goals.
  • Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects from concept to completion — ideally with $1M+ capital budgets or multi-site coordination.
  • Exceptional ability to influence and align stakeholders at all levels, including executives, department leaders, and external vendors.
  • Skilled in developing and leveraging business cases, scorecards, and performance metrics to drive prioritization and ROI.
  • Comfortable shifting between high-level strategy and hands-on execution, especially in warehouse and facilities environments.
  • Demonstrated experience identifying operational inefficiencies and implementing scalable, repeatable solutions across teams.
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting updates to executive leadership and/or boards.
  • Experienced in leading organizational or physical infrastructure changes with minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Ability to anticipate risks, remove barriers to execution, and implement creative solutions under tight deadlines.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field
  • 8+ years of professional experience in strategic planning, operations, project management, or facilities leadership, with at least 3 years in a senior OR director-level role.
  • Direct experience managing large-scale facility projects such as relocations, expansions, or distributed site strategy — including budget, timelines, and vendor oversight.
  • Track record of implementing or leading a PMO or structured project execution model across multiple departments or business units.
  • Experience managing a portfolio of $1M+ in capital or strategic initiatives, with demonstrated ROI and business impact.
  • Familiarity with warehouse or logistics environments, including OSHA compliance, space planning, and operational workflow optimization.
  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Asana, JIRA, Microsoft Project) and executive reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams without direct authority and drive results through influence and collaboration.

You might also have:

  • Lean, Six Sigma, or PMP certification strongly preferred.
  • Change management certification or experience (e.g., PROSCI, ACMP, etc)
  • Familiarity with sustainability and ESG best practices – understanding of how to incorporate environmental responsibility, energy efficiency, and socially conscious planning into facilities and infrastructure strategy.
