Sustaining Process Engineer

This position is responsible for monitoring production lines and related equipment, including the efficiency of processes and the performance of tools and equipment, ensuring high-quality deliverables for business objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain yield and throughput on the production line and champion yield and capacity improvement projects.
- Identify and contain non-conforming products or non-standard practices; use solid root cause analysis principles to identify the source of the deviation, generate and execute corrective action plans, and disposition of affected products.
- Work with Process Engineers, Equipment Engineers, and Production staff to ensure work instructions and procedures are accurate and representative of the current best-known methods at workstations.
- Document standard operating procedures (SOPs) and train staff to perform processes correctly and safely.
- Develop start-up procedures and standard process monitors to ensure the line's health and identify out-of-control tools or processes.
- Basic hands-on troubleshooting of high-volume manufacturing tools.
- Identify key process metrics and establish statistical process control at key manufacturing stations.
- Maintain the work area clean and orderly while following prescribed safety regulations.
- Support a culture of accountability for our work-related actions, supporting and fostering a positive work environment.
- Contribute to team effort by driving related results as needed.

Experience/Education
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience working in manufacturing, process development, or equivalent environment.
Plusses
- Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), and statistical software (e.g., JMP, Minitab).
- Experience with CAD or Engineering Drawings.
- Prior start-up experience.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Familiar with common workplace software (Microsoft Office).
- Independent problem solver with a desire to learn new skills and develop new technology.
- Strong organizational skills and a detail-oriented mindset.
- Able to adapt to changing requirements in a fast-paced start-up setting.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong work ethic, and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to use hand and machine tools safely.
