Sustaining Process Engineer

This position is responsible for monitoring production lines and related equipment, including the efficiency of processes and the performance of tools and equipment, ensuring high-quality deliverables for business objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain yield and throughput on the production line and champion yield and capacity improvement projects.
• Identify and contain non-conforming products or non-standard practices; use solid root cause analysis principles to identify the source of the deviation, generate and execute corrective action plans, and disposition of affected products.
• Work with Process Engineers, Equipment Engineers, and Production staff to ensure work instructions and procedures are accurate and representative of the current best-known methods at workstations.
• Document standard operating procedures (SOPs) and train staff to perform processes correctly and safely.
• Develop start-up procedures and standard process monitors to ensure the line's health and identify out-of-control tools or processes.
• Basic hands-on troubleshooting of high-volume manufacturing tools.
• Identify key process metrics and establish statistical process control at key manufacturing stations.
• Maintain the work area clean and orderly while following prescribed safety regulations.
• Support a culture of accountability for our work-related actions, supporting and fostering a positive work environment.
• Contribute to team effort by driving related results as needed.

Experience/Education

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience working in manufacturing, process development, or equivalent environment.

Plusses

• Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), and statistical software (e.g., JMP, Minitab).
• Experience with CAD or Engineering Drawings.
• Prior start-up experience.
