Description

The Mortgage Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the mortgage department, ensuring efficient processing, underwriting, and closing of mortgage loans. This role involves managing a team of mortgage professionals, implementing policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

Team Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of mortgage processors, underwriters, and closers.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback and training to staff.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment.

Operational Oversight:

  • Oversee the end-to-end mortgage loan process, from application to closing.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of mortgage applications.
  • Monitor & manage the loan pipeline and manage workflow to meet deadlines.
  • Capacity management

Compliance and Quality Control:

  • Ensure all mortgage operations comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Work alongside of SVP & compliance to help implement and maintain quality control measures to minimize risk and ensure loan quality.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency.
  • Develop and update policies and procedures to streamline operations.
  • Utilize technology and automation to improve workflow.

Customer Service:

  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
  • Work closely with all teammates to help ensure a smooth customer experience.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare and present regular reports on mortgage operations performance.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of experience in mortgage operations, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.

  • Strong knowledge of mortgage lending regulations and guidelines.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in mortgage software and technology.
