About Us: At Dr. Tavel, we're redefining digital experiences in eyecare. Our Digital Solutions team is building highly impactful web-based internal and external platforms that improve the way our patients, doctors, and employees interact with our brand. Our team is growing and we're looking for a UI/UX Designer to help us create beautiful, intuitive, and user-centered experiences that make a measurable impact.

About the Role: We're looking for a UI/UX designer who thrives at the intersection of being proficient in understanding user needs, design, and moderate technical knowledge. This person sees beyond just a pretty design and truly puts themselves into the mindset of the user when designing products. In this role, you'll lead the design of internal and external web-based products, from wireframes and workflows to high-fidelity UI designs and prototypes. You’ll collaborate closely with our product manager, engineers, marketers, and end-users to deliver exceptional digital experiences grounded in a strong vision, strategy, and user-centered mindset.

This is a remote position but requires being local to Indiana (or ability to drive to corporate office within 3 hours if out of state) because there will be occasional in-office meetings and events where attendance is required.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the end-to-end design process for web applications and tools: discovery, product workflows and wireframing, visual design, prototyping and usability testing
  • Conduct user research throughout product testing and launch phase and translate insights into actionable design strategies and improvements
  • Leverage qualitative and quantitative insights to develop A/B tests for designs and prototypes throughout various stages of the product lifecycle
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, engineering, operations, lab, and marketing
  • Present concepts and rationale to stakeholders for approval and incorporate feedback with a user-first mindset
  • Create and maintain design systems and UI libraries to ensure consistency across experiences
  • Help shape and improve internal design and discovery processes

What We’re Looking For

  • 2-7 years of professional experience in UI/UX design, with strong portfolio experience designing complex web applications, not just marketing sites
  • Deep knowledge of user-centered design principles and usability best practices
  • Skilled in Figma (or similar design tools), prototyping and visual design
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills — you’ll be working with a cross-functional teams and expected to demo wireframes and prototypes
  • Bonus: experience in healthcare, e-commerce, or internal business apps
