The Construction Finance Lead is responsible for leading financial strategy and audit activities for the Design & Development team overseeing construction and design projects. This role combines extensive construction accounting expertise with leadership in budgeting, forecasting, and compliance, specifically tailored to the hospitality development sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with project goals and corporate objectives.
- Lead financial audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes for high-capex construction projects.
- Collaborate closely with executive and project teams to optimize project financial performance.
- Provide strategic financial insights to drive decision-making and mitigate financial risks.
- Monitor and report on project financials, identifying areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Manage cash flow projections and financial modeling to support project financing and funding strategies.
- 10+ years of experience in construction accounting, preferably within gaming or hospitality development (e.g., Venetian, Caesars, MGM).
- Demonstrated leadership in managing high-capital expenditure (capex) and regulated construction projects.
- Strategic thinker with a track record of auditing complex project financials and driving performance improvements.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across construction, finance, and executive teams.
- Proven ability to thrive in a project-facing role, focusing on capital-intensive project finance rather than traditional corporate controller responsibilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. MBA or CPA preferred.
- Experience with project management software and ERP systems.
- Knowledge of hospitality development cycles and regulatory compliance requirements.
