Overview
Supervises the day-to-day activities of the Human Resources staff. Acts as a back up to the SVP, Human Resources. This is a full-time, in-office position. The role is also eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as accrued vacation, sick leave, and personal time.

Must have a valid California driver’s license and carry current auto insurance that meets or exceeds the minimum requirements of the California DMV.

- Manager: SVP, Human Resources
- Senior Manager: President, Chief Executive Officer
- Will provide back-up to, and assistance with, Human Resources-related functions as directed by the SVP, Human Resources. These functions include, but are not limited to, recruitment, selection, placement, employee relations, compensation, benefits, workers compensation, and distribution of stock incentives.
- Manages employee relations matters, including workplace investigations, counseling, and performance improvement plans.
- Reviews, tracks, and documents written counseling’s and employee concerns.
- Supports performance management activities, including review tracking, manager coaching, and performance evaluation assistance.
- Oversees recruitment efforts, including job postings, candidate sourcing, interviews, and preparation of offer letters.
- May conducts new hire onboarding processes, including orientation, background checks, E-Verify, and documentation.
- Ensures company-wide compliance with employment laws (e.g., SAFE Act, CCPA), including labor law postings.
- Manages all aspects of leave administration, including LOA tracking, COVID-19 absences, and reasonable accommodation coordination.
- Administers workers’ compensation claims, including provider communication, claim entry, and legal correspondence.
- Responds to legal inquiries, unemployment claims, subpoenas, and labor board matters.
- Maintains and updates job descriptions in alignment with organizational needs and regulatory changes.
- Tracks legal documentation and maintains logs for legal compliance, audits, and reporting.
- Assists with benefits administration, payroll reconciliation, open enrollment, and SDI/PFL coordination.
- Leads compensation reviews using salary aging and market data to support pay equity and recommendations.
- Maintains and updates the employee handbook in compliance with California and federal labor laws; supports annual acknowledgments and affirmative action planning.
- Facilitates employee and management training on harassment prevention, workplace violence, wage and hour compliance, performance reviews, and leadership development.
- Coordinates notary renewals, employee events, and engagement programs.
- Maintains HRIS accuracy, ensuring data integrity across systems.
- Prepares and submits required government reports, including EEO-1, CA Pay Data Report, OSHA Form 300A, and Cal/OSHA 300 logs.
- Maintains records of work-related injuries and illnesses as required by law and ensures availability upon request for a minimum of five years.
- Supports budget, invoice processing, and credit card reconciliation.
- Collects and organizes personnel, medical, and benefits records for legal counsel, audits, and regulatory compliance.
- Handles all sensitive information with a high degree of confidentiality and professional discretion, in compliance with legal and organizational standards.
- Responsible for maintaining high level of job performance to meet and/or exceed the standard for this position in order to ensure achievement of the Department’s goals.

Required Education And/or Experience
- Professional in Human Resources certification desired
- Three to five years’ experience in Human Resources management functions
- Bachelor’s degree in Management or related discipline preferred.
- The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels within the organization, as well as with outside contacts.
- Ability to shift between tasks quickly and efficiently.
- Must have good aptitude for numbers and detail.
- Keyboarding and computer skills are necessary, as well as strong organizational skills.
- Must have strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as Outlook.
