Key Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of managing and directing design and construction teams, ensuring projects run smoothly from start to finish.
  • Handle a variety of project complexities, from full lifecycle development management to multi-discipline projects.
  • Analyze and resolve on-site construction challenges in collaboration with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients, ensuring smooth project flow.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing competing priorities while maintaining high standards.
  • Develop and update field work procedures, ensuring compliance with codes, technical manuals, and industry best practices.
  • Lead and provide technical direction to contractors and project teams, ensuring all work is done to spec.
  • Review and ensure A/E design documents are completed, coordinated, scheduled, and ready for construction.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of all contract documents, making sure everything is on track and compliant.
  • Communicate regularly with your supervisor and team on project progress, addressing any issues or updates as necessary.
  • Oversee the approval of progress payments and Time and Material field work with contractors, ensuring timely and accurate financial management.
  • Review and approve change orders, providing feedback and negotiating claims protection.
  • Provide full development budgets and reports to upper management, ensuring financial accuracy and transparency.
  • Mentor Assistant Project Managers or Project Coordinators, helping them grow and take on more responsibility as directed.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Ensure the safety and welfare of everyone on the job site, strictly enforcing the project-specific safety plan and regulatory policies.
  • Lead investigations into any accidents or incidents, taking corrective action as required.
  • Maintain a positive safety culture by promoting awareness and continuous improvement.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Foster jobsite harmony, building strong relationships across all project teams.
  • Manage insurance claims and safety program compliance.
  • Represent the company with professionalism and a positive attitude, both internally and externally.
  • Participate in all team activities and deliverables, ensuring they’re completed on time and to the highest standard.
  • Treat employees, clients, and vendors with courtesy and respect, contributing to a positive and professional work environment.

What You Bring:

  • Experience: 5+ years in the field, with broad experience across multiple construction disciplines (civil, structural, architectural, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing).
  • Education: High School diploma required. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field is a plus, though a combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Skills: Proficient in Windows/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook/Word. Basic knowledge of project management software (Prolog, AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, Suretrack) preferred.
  • Certifications: OSHA 30-hour certification preferred. Additional certifications as required by the company.
