Summary
The Sr. Project Engineer is responsible for product design, product testing, contributing to innovation projects, leading, and managing cost savings, product improvement and product development projects, and the related implementation and support of these projects into production.
Responsibilities
Product Design:
Requires a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from a four-year College or University preferred. Minimum of 2 years of Product Engineering experience.

Summary
The Sr. Project Engineer is responsible for product design, product testing, contributing to innovation projects, leading, and managing cost savings, product improvement and product development projects, and the related implementation and support of these projects into production.
Responsibilities
Product Design:
- Develop clear and complete drawings and utilize Creo-Pro Engineer and CadKey effectively.
- Understand the scope of the project - design parameters and requirements.
- Lead and Manage product development teams.
- Ability to utilize company resources effectively to optimize a design to meet and balance sales, marketing, customer, manufacturing, industry, engineering, and supplier criteria.
- Acquire prototypes efficiently.
- Contribute to Innovation projects.
- Identify projects that will benefit A.Y. McDonald and convey them as required.
- Work independently with all A.Y. McDonald resources to complete project work and solve problems.
- Lead cost saving and product improvement projects.
- Design experiments to utilize A.Y. McDonald engineering lab equipment to obtain relevant results.
- Conduct experiments per standards and procedures.
- Record, interpret, convey, and react to results effectively and accurately.
- Research and update PE archives.
- Coordinate and convey testing and procedures as required.
- Follow Engineering Change order procedure including file management, sample approvals, time delay updates, coordination with other departments and venders, etc.
- Effective change order communication, i.e. clarity, accuracy, thoroughness, timeliness, etc.
- Effective control of Methods of Manufacturing.
- Provide information and samples to effectively market the product.
