Habitat for Humanity of Jacksonville is currently seeking a Family Services Specialist who has a heart for helping families and individuals in need of a hand up to buy a place they can call home. Position Summary

The Family Services Specialist coordinates and supports processes for the Habitat for Humanity of Jacksonville

Homeownership Program including family recruitment, program application, family selection, mortgage loan application, loan closing, homeowner education, and post-closing homeowner services. This position requires excellent interpersonal skills, ability to use professional values and ethics to effectively interact with people of diverse backgrounds, sound time management and organizational skills, the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, and a commitment to Habitat for Humanity of Jacksonville's mission, vision, and values.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position. The standard hours for this position are Monday through Friday 8am-5pm with flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed. Some work may be completed remotely.

Work Location:

This position is based out of our Main Office in downtown Jacksonville, Florida. Free parking is provided.

Pay Rate

The starting pay rate for this position is $20 to $22 per hour based on experience.

Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Provide information, support, and resources to potential and selected homebuyers throughout the Homeownership Program process.
• Answer questions and inquiries about the Homeownership Program via phone, email, and in-person communications.
• Provide coordination and support for the Homeownership Program Information Sessions.
• Provide coordination and support for the Homeownership Program Application process.
• Provide coordination and support for the Homeownership Program Family Selection process.
• Provide coordination and support to selected homebuyers for third-party mortgage loan application processes.
• Coordinate and conduct New Homebuyer Orientation Sessions.
• Provide coordination and support for Homeowner Education and Sweat Equity processes.
• Provide coordination and support to homebuyers during the home selection and home purchasing process.
• Provide coordination and support to homebuyers during the home closing process.
• Provide coordination and support for Home Dedication Events.
• Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Homeowner Resource Library to help homeowners achieve homeownership success.
• Maintain post-closing relationship with Homeowners to monitor family stability and success.
• Provide coordination and support for delinquent mortgage homeowners. Contact delinquent homeowners to assist in bringing mortgage current. Act as a liaison between the loan servicer and the homeowner.
• Provide coordination and support to homeowners paying off their mortgage or selling their home.
• Identify and communicate internally potential homebuyer/homeowner stories and testimonies.
• Coordinate and collaborate with department and other Habitat for Humanity of Jacksonville staff.
• Be aware of and advocate for the mission, vision, and values of Habitat for Humanity.
• Perform additional duties as required and directed.
  
  

Education, Experience, And Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years experience in family/community services and process coordination.
• 3+ years experience in mortgage processing and servicing preferred.
• Excellent communication, public speaking, and presentation skills. Willingness to attend public functions and networking events.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to comfortably interact with people of diverse socio-economic backgrounds.
• Strong collaborative skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• High ethical standards, good judgment, and demonstrated diplomacy and tact.
• Achievement and goal oriented with excellent planning and organizational skills. Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate external events and meetings.
• Attention to detail, persistence in follow up, and a strong sense of urgency.
• Computer proficiency to include the use of Microsoft Office and other software applications.
• Experience with manipulating data and an understanding of database software. Proficiency in Raiser’s Edge preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License insurable by Habitat for Humanity of Jacksonville’s insurance carrier.
• Able to successfully pass a background and drug screening.
