Responsibilities

  • Oversee all program components, including staff orientation, training and development: client assessment, service plan development and progress: relationships with other community-based organizations; and components specific to the site and population
  • Ensure all departments meet contractual goals and reporting requirements
  • Monitor program progress and submit all required reports to funding sources, including government and private sources
  • Submit an internal progress report to the Residence Director and/or Executive Director on a monthly basis. Or more frequently as required
  • Prepare proposals for development, expansion and continuation of programs in coordination with Residence Director
  • Hold monthly individual supervision meetings with staff and group meetings as necessary
  • Monitor staff performance, including performing case reviews and structured observations
  • Participate in, and encourage staff to become involved in agency events
  • Oversee all areas of social services (case management, client navigator, social workers, and recreation) ensuring uniform quality of services and compliance with regulatory agencies.
  • Intervene in major crisis with clients, staff and agencies, ensuring well-being and compliance with laws and government regulations.
  • Implement goals for relocating the maximum number of homeless migrant families to appropriate permanent housing.
  • Prepare social services statistics and reports for performance analysis and program planning.
  • Formulate and implement social services policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Residence Director

Administrative

Evaluation Categories:

  • Frequency and quality of supervision provided to social services staff (both individual and group), completion of evaluations in a timely manner
  • Preparation and monitoring of reports (both in house and audit prep)
  • Binder/CARES review completion
  • Ensuring all social services staff are on top of their training completion.

Oversight Of Client And Staff Targets

  • Play a role in ensuring that our housing targets are met, and that the related staff are doing what they need to do for us to hit those targets. Conferencing families who are not compliant with their housing search/goals.
  • Participate in ensuring that childcare and recreation enrollments are high. Strategize with Rec Coordinator/Childcare Coordinator if numbers are low.
  • Ensure that ILP completion rates are high by checking in with CMS about targets.

Qualifications

  • LMSW (Master of Social Work + Licensure)
  • Minimum of two years supervisory experience
  • Bi-lingual Spanish proficiency highly preferred due to client population served
  • Proficiency in modern business communications including personal computers, electronic mail, voicemail, facsimile, and copier equipment

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to climb five flights of stairs, if required to conduct home visits and/or fieldwork.
  • Ability to bend and retrieve objects and/or documents.
  • Ability to travel in the boroughs of New York City and its adjacent counties via public transportation.
  • Ability to travel for a minimum of 1 mile within a reasonable amount of time and in all types of weather, including inclement weather, if required to conduct home visits and/or field work.
