Key Responsibilities
- Project Oversight & Execution
- Manage day-to-day on-site construction activities across commercial projects
- Implement project schedules and ensure work aligns with plans and specs
- Maintain high safety, quality, and productivity standards
- Budget & Resource Management
- Monitor labor, materials, and equipment usage to stay within budget
- Work closely with the project manager to anticipate and mitigate cost issues
- Team Leadership
- Direct on-site crews, subcontractors, and vendors with clarity and authority
- Foster a positive, accountable jobsite culture aligned with company values
- Safety & Compliance
- Enforce site-specific safety programs and OSHA compliance
- Conduct safety meetings, toolbox talks, and daily inspections
- Documentation & Reporting
- Utilize construction management software to track and report site activity
- Maintain daily logs, labor reports, photos, and incident reports
- Material & Equipment Coordination
- Ensure timely delivery and readiness of tools, materials, and equipment
- Operate equipment (forklifts, skid steers, small excavators) as required
- Stakeholder Communication
- Serve as the primary on-site liaison for owners, architects, engineers, and internal teams
- Resolve issues and communicate changes or challenges quickly and effectively
- Quality Assurance & Closeout
- Conduct quality control checks, punch walks, and ensure completion of closeout documents
- Uphold project specs and Mefford's quality standards from start to finish
- Minimum 3 years of field supervision experience in commercial construction
- Capable of self-performing work (concrete, carpentry, drywall, etc.)
- Strong coordination, leadership, and communication skills
- Physically fit for outdoor work and capable of lifting 50+ lbs regularly
- Ability to travel as needed based on project assignments
