Position Overview

The Marketing Development Representative (MDR) is a critical member of the sales organization at Teaching Strategies. The role of the MDR is to follow up quickly and effectively with Marketing generated leads to qualify as sales opportunities. Move solid leads through the funnel connecting them to a salesperson, scheduling meetings, and ultimately driving conversion of marketing generated leads to revenue.

The MDR will report into the Director of Sales Development and work closely with members of marketing, sales, and operations to inform best practices for lead management; maintain excellent response time to interested leads (SLA's) and provide feedback to continually improve the lead process for internal stakeholders and the customer experience.

Specific Roles & Responsibilities

Specific Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Manages inbound lead activity, qualifying active buying interest and developing opportunities in prospective accounts
  • Manages sales phone lines, sales web-based leads, and sales events leads
  • Triages leads to appropriate department or seek to bring awareness/value/helpfulness to establish a superior experience that will set the stage for effective sales follow-up, as well as future product sales.
  • Develops templates (and other assets) for lead responses and leverage automation to continually improve SLA's
  • Shares insights and best practices collaboratively with marketing to improve lead quality and lead funnel process
  • Leverages on-boarding and continuous training to be an expert about the company, industry, our platform's benefits, and features to effectively articulate the TS value proposition, while gathering information about prospect needs

Qualifications

  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and pivot
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience or strong interest in education, edtech, early childhood programming, and private childcare
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM (not required but candidates with this experience will be heavily considered)
  • Experience with Salesloft or other SEP (not required but candidates with this experience will be heavily considered)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Familiarity with Teaching Strategies solutions and products
