Description

Are you a detail-oriented HR professional who finds purpose in supporting employees - from benefit enrollment to medical leave and everything in between?

At Security National Bank, if there is one belief we hold together as a team, it’s that everything matters. From the words we say, to the way we dress, to the decisions we make and the actions we take – every single thing we do matters. Why? Because we recognize the inherent value of each individual and the potential of what each person can become. We realize every one of life’s interactions is an opportunity to help someone reach that potential. This is why we treat even the smallest details of life and banking with careful thought and attention. If you aspire to do the same, we’d like you to advance your career with us at SNB.

We believe that caring for our people starts with dependable, informed, and compassionate support - and our HR team takes that commitment seriously. We're currently seeking a Benefits Administrator who is passionate about accuracy, compliance, and making a meaningful difference in the employee experience. In this role, you’ll take ownership of our benefit programs, ensuring employees understand and can access the resources available to them. From coordinating open enrollment and managing leaves of absence to handling benefit billing and compliance reporting, your attention to detail will help employees feel supported and informed.

You’ll manage workers compensation claims, administer FMLA, coordinate retiree benefits, and respond to benefit-related questions - all while maintaining strong vendor relationships and ensuring regulatory compliance. You’ll also serve as a reliable backup for payroll processing and timekeeping functions, contributing to the accuracy, consistency, and trust that our employees rely on every day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage benefit enrollment for new hires, life events, and annual open enrollment.
  • Administer FMLA and leaves of absence, including disability and workers compensation claims.
  • Manage benefit billing, ensuring accuracy and timely vendor payments.
  • Oversee administration of FSAs, HSAs, HRA plans, and retiree dental premiums.
  • Maintain UKG system data related to open enrollment and benefit changes.
  • Complete and submit ACA 1095-C forms, PCORI Fee, CAA Pharmacy reports, and benefit census data.
  • Facilitate communication with benefit providers to resolve employee inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state benefit regulations and maintain accurate records.
  • Support wellness initiatives that promote employee health and engagement.
  • Provide backup support for payroll processing, reconciliations, and departmental needs.
  • Assist with I-9 processing, Form 5500 submissions, and United Way campaign coordination.

Required for this position: Excellent analytical skills, a high degree of accuracy, and the ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational and time management abilities, and a dependable, proactive approach to work. Must be capable of working independently while also contributing effectively within a collaborative HR team. About Security National Bank

Security National Bank was chartered in 1884 in Sioux City, Iowa; founded on the time-tested principles of integrity, honor, open-mindedness, efficiency, good humor, respect, duty, and human connection. These principles served as guideposts that enabled SNB to withstand the economic panic of the late 1800s, the Great Depression, two World Wars, and the farm crisis — and emerge as the region’s most established and trustworthy locally owned bank. We believe what was worth doing well yesterday is still worth doing well today. People change and banking changes, but our time-tested principles remain. To this day, we believe that doing what’s right is the only way to take care of customers, empower businesses, cultivate growth, inspire our community, and accomplish the remarkable.
