Position Overview
GTI is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of New Product Introduction (NPI) to lead the launch of new products from concept to full-scale production. This role will own the NPI process end-to-end, driving cross-functional collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and business development. The ideal candidate combines exceptional leadership and project management skills with strong technical knowledge of manufacturing environments.
This is a high-impact role responsible for accelerating time-to-market, improving product performance, and ensuring the successful launch of new product lines aligned with GTI’s growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Execution
- Lead the development and execution of NPI strategies that align with corporate goals and market demands
- Define launch timelines, key deliverables, resource requirements, and performance metrics
- Oversee cross-functional teams including design engineering, production, quality, supply chain, and sales
- Foster a collaborative environment to ensure alignment and timely delivery
- Manage the full NPI lifecycle: concept, design, prototype, validation, ramp-up, and full production
- Own program schedules, risk assessments, budget controls, and resource allocation
- Ensure smooth handoff from engineering to manufacturing, including tooling, process development, and quality assurance
- Lead pilot production runs and support full production scale-up
- Drive continuous improvement in the NPI process to reduce cost, increase speed, and improve product quality
- Champion design-for-manufacturability and lean principles across NPI projects
- Ensure all new products meet regulatory, safety, and quality standards
- Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for product launch issues
- Provide regular updates to executive leadership, project stakeholders, and customers
- Represent GTI at industry trade shows, client presentations, and launch events
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field
- 8+ years of experience in NPI, manufacturing engineering, or product development
- Proven success in launching products in complex manufacturing environments
- Strong leadership and team-building skills across technical and operational domains
- Expertise in project management tools (Smartsheet, MS Project, etc.)
- PMP certification or MBA
- Familiarity with modular construction, metal fabrication, or container-based systems
- Experience in high-volume or prototype-to-production environments
- Knowledge of ERP systems (NetSuite preferred)
