The Clinical Professional facilitates admissions, conducts intake assessments, and oversees utilization review to ensure appropriate patient care and resource use.
- Responds to inquiries within policy timeframes and develops therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
- Performs benefit eligibility checks, communicates with the business office, and collaborates with medical teams for referral recommendations.
- Coordinates admissions and transfers, maintains milieu management knowledge, and ensures timely communication of projected admissions.
- Gathers clinical information, schedules pre-admission assessments, consults with physicians, and prepares documentation for authorization.
- Admits patients, completes forms, and maintains medical records to support authorization and proper care levels.
- Demonstrates professionalism, empathy, and prioritizes patient safety, addressing concerns as needed.
- Performs other assigned tasks, with qualifications including a Bachelor's in social services (Master's preferred), relevant experience, and required licensure and certifications.
