RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client seeking a CM in Davie, FL.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of roadway construction projects from pre-construction to final acceptance
- Serve as the technical expert for all construction engineering and inspection (CEI) tasks, ensuring compliance with FDOT standards, project specifications, and safety regulations
- Oversee contractor performance and field staff to ensure quality, schedule, and budget objectives are met
- Review and approve engineering design plans, construction documents, submittals, RFIs, and change orders
- Manage the implementation of construction phasing, erosion control, storm drainage systems, roadway alignments, and utility coordination
- Conduct site inspections to verify workmanship, materials, and project progress; resolve field conflicts and design discrepancies
- Provide leadership in the preparation and review of project schedules, cost estimates, progress reports, and final close-out documentation
- Liaise with Tribal departments (Public Works, Environmental/Water Resource, Housing, Real Estate, Construction Management, etc.), BIA, and external agencies to ensure project alignment and permit compliance
- Develop and implement construction QA/QC protocols to ensure project deliverables meet or exceed technical expectations
- Support the training, mentoring, and development of junior engineers, inspectors, and construction managers within the department
- Maintain proactive communication with Tribal leadership, community members, and project stakeholders to address concerns and report on progress
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida strongly preferred
- Minimum 15 years of roadway construction engineering and inspection (CEI) experience, with demonstrated expertise in rural roadway projects
- Extensive knowledge of storm drainage systems, utility installation and coordination, and various pavement structures
- Strong understanding of FDOT standards, MUTCD guidelines, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations
- Proven experience managing small and large-scale transportation infrastructure projects, including contract negotiation, change management, and contractor oversight
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and disciplines
- Proficiency in project management tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and construction inspection software
- Valid Florida Driver's License and willingness to travel across and project sites
