The Physician Assistant (ACLS) provides advanced clinical care under physician supervision, including diagnosis, treatment, surgical assistance, and preventative care in inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Responsibilities include patient assessments, interpreting labs/x-rays, prescribing medications, and participating in interdisciplinary rounds.
- Acts as a clinical resource, mentor, and patient advocate, promoting teamwork and effective communication.
- Ensures patient safety by adhering to protocols, managing test results, and developing care plans.
- Documents accurately, supports department goals, and participates in quality improvement and innovation initiatives.
- Requires a Bachelor's degree, NCCPA certification, Texas licensure, and one year of clinical experience.
- Must hold BLS, ACLS, DEA licenses, and demonstrate strong clinical judgment, communication, and organizational skills.
- May be on-call and travel within and outside the Houston area.
