Associate's degree is preferred. (Typically three years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess an associate's degree.)

Five or more years working experience in a legal environment, either at a mid- to large law firm, or in-house corporate legal department.

Applicants with a certified legal assistant (CLA), certified paralegal (CP) or advanced paralegal (AP) designation will be given preference.

Experience working with corporate/LLC entity formations and management of complex corporate subsidiary structures and director/officer slates, using related software, preferred.

Previous experience in the energy industry is helpful.

Demonstrated understanding of basic legal terms, proficiency in legal, internet and traditional research tools.

Demonstrates exceptional organizational skills with a strong focus on document control and information management. Possesses advanced writing, grammar and editing abilities, essential for preparing and finalizing high-quality reports and corporate documents for executive leadership.

Strong computer skills; proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint; familiar with Teams, experience with CT hCue software is helpful.

Effective verbal and written communication skills. Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently and track all to completion.

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of company/corporate information.

Assist the Corporate Secretary by managing and maintaining records related to the Board of Directors, officers, shareholders and corporate subsidiaries. Draft corporate documents, board meeting materials, minutes and resolutions based on attorney guidance. Support the formation and tracking of corporate subsidiaries and affiliates.

Maintain archives of corporate resolutions and assist with managing preferred stock ledgers. Provide support for SEC reporting, including tracking company-wide material litigation for quarterly litigation reports and auditor review. Manage and track service of process and support employment attorney with ethics and hotline reports.

Conduct legal and business research, summarizing findings in written memoranda. Develop and maintain electronic resource libraries. Collect, review, and organize documents and data; implement procedures for information collection, storage and analysis.

Draft and revise legal and business documents for attorney review and approval. Prepare periodic reports and summaries for management. Maintain charts of legal activities and assist with processing legal department expenses, including law firm invoices.

Provide administrative support to BHE legal department (attorney time entry, travel arrangements, expense reporting, calendar management and CLE tracking).
