Role And Responsibilities
We are seeking a strategic and execution-driven Head of Supplier Management to lead supplier relationships across the US, Asia and Europe with a slant towards US manufacturers. This is a once-in-a-career opportunity to scale a technology backed by 40+ years of research in order to shape the electrical grid of tomorrow. This role will be instrumental in building and managing a world-class supplier base that is high quality and low cost and resilient to delivery challenges.
This position reports to the Head of Operations. We have a preference for Bay Area candidates but are open to a remote position.
The ideal candidate will have deep experience in US-based Supply Chains, with a working knowledge of international sourcing, contract negotiation, trade compliance and logistics. A background in ceramics and battery manufacturing is a plus. This position will manage and hire a team within the first year.

Minimum Requirements
- 10+ years experience in managing teams in Supply Chain and Logistics
- Strong familiarity with ERP/MRP systems
- Ability to partner with Engineering to qualify new suppliers
- Proven success negotiating, cost modeling and supplier management. Assessment of new suppliers a must.
- Has hired and built effective teams
- Applied experience in working with teams to gain SCM certifications
- Financial and strategic acumen
- Effective communicator
- Ok to travel to suppliers and manage qualification plans as we bring up vendors
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a dynamic start-up environment
- A good listener with integrity and humility. A champion of our Practices of Safety, Determination, Teamwork, Humility, Joy.
- Bachelors degree
- APICS/ASCM certification in Planning and Inventory Management
- APICS/ASCM certification in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution
- FIATA certifications
