Job Overview

Steel Fab Enterprises Inc. is seeking a results-driven and detail-oriented Steel Construction Manager to oversee structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects from start to finish. Based at our Lancaster, PA Plant 2 location, this full-time, onsite role is ideal for someone with a strong background in construction project management and a passion for delivering work on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead project lifecycle from subcontract review and kickoff meetings to final closeout.
  • Create detailed project schedules in coordination with customers and senior PMs; update regularly.
  • Review and approve detailed drawings, submittals, and shop releases to ensure alignment with contract specs.
  • Perform field measurements for miscellaneous metals as needed.
  • Buy out project components such as fabrication, detailing, joists/decks, and galvanizing.
  • Maintain consistent communication with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Track and manage project profitability; recover costs for changes and extras within 60 days.
  • Participate in weekly project reviews for cost tracking and scheduling.
  • Ensure accurate billing, documentation, and compliance with company policies.
  • Conduct oneself in a professional and ethical manner as a representative of Steel Fab.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of construction project management experience required
  • High School diploma or GED required; additional education or certifications a plus.
  • Proficiency in reading construction drawings and project specifications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Skilled in prioritizing multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
  • Highly organized with strong problem-solving and negotiating skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Positive attitude, team-oriented mindset, and assertive approach to project execution.
