LOCATION - This is a remote position and can be based from any location within the United States.

About The Job

The Tepa Companies are seeking a Lead Project Manager to be Tepa’s recognized Project Manager expert. As a Lead Project Manager, you will establish, implement, and maintain project management standards, processes, and best practices, in accordance with Tepa standards and policies. This will include standard processes for initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, and closing projects.

Job Functions:

  • Provides oversight on project execution, ensuring quality excellence, and setting appropriate goals and objectives
  • Assists in the development of project plans and staffing strategies, ensuring alignment with approved business plans
  • Instrumental in maintaining long-term relationships with key clients by providing technical expertise, attending client meetings, and leading project development pursuits.
  • Partner with Vice Presidents to develop and implement project management processes.
  • Supervise/manage the project managers in the Engineering Business Unit. Ensure technical staff are managed, mentored, and trained to support the business line managers.
  • Assist with development of project plans and project staffing plans and assist Vice Presidents to meet the approved plans accordingly.
  • Ensure streamlined and standardized processes are developed to support effective Engineering Business Unit operations, consistent with Tepa standards for project management, contracting, and subcontracting.
  • Ensure the Engineering Business Unit complies with Tepa project management policies and procedures.
  • Promote positive working support and collaboration with other Tepa divisions in project management efforts.
  • In collaboration with the VP of Engineering Operations, support monthly program/project reviews with project managers to evaluate each project’s performance, identify challenges as early as possible, collaborate on proactive solutions, and document and distribute lessons learned to others.
  • Assist project managers with technical issues, scheduling, cost control measures, administrative, and customer service skills.
  • In collaboration with the VP of Engineering Operations, ensure that Tepa Leadership is well apprised of all budget, schedule, scope, quality, client satisfaction and lesson learned issues in a timely manner.
  • Attend contract negotiations and contract dispute meetings, as necessary.
  • Represents Tepa at technical events such as conferences and technical meetings.
  • Ensures Tepa Core Values are being practiced by all Tepa staff.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or other related field
  • 10+ year of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated ability to fulfill commitments on schedule and meet clients' service expectations and requirements
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with project team members and clients 
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in building working relationships and interacting with multidisciplinary teams 
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills, including attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness, as well as a commitment to producing high-quality deliverables
  • Strong interpersonal, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks to meet multiple schedule deadlines
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Word and Excel
  • Strong attention to detail

Preferred Education and Experience (not required): 

  • Previous Tepa project management experience
  • PMP
  • Master’s degree
