Ferguson is hiring a Workplace Violence Investigator. This position is responsible for supporting Ferguson's global security efforts by working to prevent and respond to workplace violence allegations. This is a highly collaborative role, who will lead cross functional investigations intended to keep our associates and customers safe.

Location:

This position is approved for remote work in the United States. However, the ideal candidate would live on the west coast (CA, WA, OR) or in Newport News, VA. If local to Hampton Roads, this is a Hybrid role based out of our corporate offices in Newport News, VA. The standard working hours for this position are 8-5 pm in your location, Monday through Friday. Occasional variation from this schedule may be required to meet business needs or for an east coast meeting.

Responsibilities:

  • Investigate, research, and resolve internal and external issues related to various threats against workplace personnel and assets:
  • Monitor persons of interest who may pose a threat of violence to people or assets.
  • Monitor all-source information to proactively identify and assess likelihood and severity of threats.
  • Produce high-quality, timely, and tailored threat assessments for internal stakeholders while managing sensitive or confidential data.
  • Serve as an enterprise subject matter expert on threats of targeted violence and their prevention and response
  • Assists in the assessment, planning, development, and implementation of learning and development programs that mitigate workplace violence.
  • Ability to assess and support individuals in crisis while also de-escalating persons of concern.
  • Developing and implementing tailored crisis intervention plans, which may include referrals to other services and safety planning.
  • Deliver analytical assessments in clear and succinct products that project credibility, convey recommendations, and reinforce key messages.
  • Demonstrate a strong ability to assess complex issues, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to work independently, good organizational skills, computer skills, motivated to seek continued education.
  • Ability to facilitate both large and small groups for training/education/meetings. Demonstrated organizational and project management skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively prioritize an increasing case load.
  • Apply problem-solving skills and partner with other business groups (HR, Legal, Safety, etc.) to implement preventative measures in response to investigations.
  • Work collaboratively with business leaders and HQ partners to implement solutions designed to support the long-term sustainability of workplace violence mitigation efforts.
  • Support other investigation types on an as-needed basis.
  • Support the company’s business continuity function as directed, including the issuance of critical mass notification alerts to locations regarding risk/ threat events.
  • Prepare detailed investigation summaries and reports, which will be reviewed by executive leadership.

Education, Experience, and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required (or equivalent government, private, military, or law enforcement experience)
  • 3+ years prior experience in a large corporation or law enforcement agency where work duties were primarily investigative in nature is required.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Certified Threat Manager, Professional Certified Investigator) are strongly preferred.
  • Interviewing and Interrogation training.

Pay Range:

$5,040.00 - $8,181.80

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.

This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.

Ferguson complies with all wage regulations. The starting wage may be higher in certain locations based on local or state wage requirements.
