Description

The Administrative Office of the Courts is the operational arm of the Judicial Branch. The court system employs nearly 3,300 personnel who support 406 elected justices, judges, and circuit court clerks.

The Court Administration has an immediate need to fill the position of Executive Assistant to Justice Kelly Thompson in Warren County.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage and maintain executive schedules, including scheduling travel and making appointments, schedule meetings, and coordinate calendars.
  • Maintain all information, including oral, written, or electronic, in a manner that ensures its Confidentiality.
  • Greet visitors of the Justice’s office with professionalism and determine access to appropriate parties.
  • Prepare correspondence for distribution or approval, inspecting the documents for completeness and Accuracy.
  • Prepare monthly travel and expense vouchers and submit to appropriate staff for processing.
  • Maintain and organize files with highest level of confidentiality.
  • All work related to Supreme Court, including but not limited to, maintaining a list of active cases, and coordinating with staff on drafting, proofing, posting opinions for monthly court conference; access opinions posted by fellow Justices and record votes and related responses.
  • Access supporting documentation from state or appellate courts.
  • Follow procedures after court conference to assure accuracy in rulings and publication status.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Business Related Field

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: 3 years’ experience as a paralegal, legal secretary, or administrative assistant to a Lawyer or Judge

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Associate with five (5) years of job-related experience or H.S. Diploma and seven (7) years.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): A general knowledge of the Court system. Must be proficient in Outlook, Microsoft word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Able to transcribe dictation. Primary Workstation: Bowling Green

Working Conditions

Expense paid travel to Frankfort required one week per month, nine out of twelve months
