The Patient Financial Services Analyst will support reporting, analytics, summaries, and special projects to the Patient Accounting department and other operational areas. Required skills are strong business analytics with products such as Tableau and Snowflake, to extract date from multiple sources and translate into databases and reports. Candidates should possess an understanding of revenue cycle data, coding, denials, and revenue integrity reporting.

- Assists in development and production of reports and planning tools that are distributed and presented to executives and key stakeholders.
- Uses discretion and independent judgment to prepare trend analyses, department analytics and ad hoc reports.
- Gathers data and prepares analysis to address business partner requests.
- Supports preparation of monthly close reports.
- Maintains routine analyses and reports.
- Prepares monthly, quarterly, annual ad hoc reports and furnishes data on an as needed basis.
- Responsible for the accuracy of data collection, reporting, and translation of data needed to support the Patient Accounting department .in decision making activity.
- Assists in maintaining, and revising as necessary the existing financial reporting tools, e.g., ATB Report, Denial Management Reports, Late Charge Reports, Financial Report Cards.
- Coordinates and manages delivery of quarterly and annual audit data.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum Education:
- High school diploma required; 1-2 years’ college preferred in a related field.
- Minimum Experience:
- 1 year of experience in patient accounting, physician office, or Health Information Management setting in a comparable role. Preferably in the health care industry required. Experience with patient accounting technology and related applications experience preferred.
- Experience with EPIC or other electronic health record systems preferred.
- License/Certification/Registration:
- N/A
- Basic understanding of financial statements and patient accounting.
- Experience handling and summarizing large data sets.
- Basic knowledge of analytical tools including Microsoft Office (Excel and Access).
- Understanding of hospital and/or physician billing operations as well as basic third-party payor requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, customer service and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with teams and key stakeholders and escalate identified issues to Finance leadership.
- Ability to exercise superior judgment, discretion, interpersonal skills to work effectively.
- General knowledge of the business operations and associated technologies in each of the functional areas, namely A/R Management, Patient Accounting Data Transactions, and Research Billing.
