Job Overview

Spencer Concrete & Excavation is looking for a skilled and driven Estimator / Project Manager to join our project management team. This dual-role position plays a pivotal part in both accurately estimating civil construction and sitework projects and overseeing them through completion. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, are proficient with estimating software like PlanSwift, and bring a deep understanding of concrete and earthwork operations, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed project estimates and budgets for civil construction projects, specializing in concrete and earthwork.
• Interpret project plans, specifications, and construction documents for accurate quantity takeoffs.
• Utilize estimating software (PlanSwift or similar) to generate cost proposals and bids.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources from preconstruction through completion.
• Coordinate subcontractor quotes, bids, and material pricing.
• Collaborate with field teams and clients to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Monitor ongoing project progress, ensuring adherence to plans, specifications, and safety standards.
• Prepare and present progress reports to stakeholders.
• Conduct site visits and preconstruction meetings to assess job scope and logistics.
• Serve as the main point of contact for clients and internal team members throughout the project lifecycle.
  
  

Qualifications

• College Degree or 5 years of experience in concrete and/or earthwork estimating and project management.
• Strong proficiency with PlanSwift or similar digital estimating platforms.
• Solid understanding of commercial civil construction methods, materials, and practices.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Comfortable working both in the office and on-site.
