JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a strategic, bilingual Brand Manager to oversee the development, implementation, and stewardship of the Northgate family of brands. In this role, you will ensure the brand voice, identity, and customer-facing messaging are consistent, compelling, and aligned with business goals. You’ll lead brand architecture, manage media strategy (excluding digital), and work across departments to create cohesive brand experiences in both Spanish and English.

The Brand Manager is responsible for ensuring the development and consistent use and protection of various Northgate brands across our operating portfolio. The Brand Manager will work with various business leaders to ensure that our brands are developed in accordance with our standards and represents the business needs for optimal customer messaging and affiliation. The Brand Manager will work to ensure our umbrella of brands adheres to our strategies and that all users within our company comply to the appropriate use and applications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Brand Strategy & Governance

  • Own and evolve the brand identity system across Northgate’s portfolio — including logos, color palettes, tone of voice, and brand treatments
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive brand guidelines, ensuring consistent application across channels and departments
  • Act as brand guardian, providing strategic oversight for internal and external use of branding elements in both Spanish and English

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with business leaders, Marketing, Merchandising, Shopper Marketing, and Store Operations to align brand execution with business objectives
  • Serve as a strategic partner to Digital Marketing and Creative teams in developing integrated campaigns and communications

Media & Campaign Planning

  • Lead strategy, planning, and execution of traditional (non-digital) media campaigns, including radio, print, and out-of-home
  • Define campaign objectives, measure performance, and optimize media spend to drive brand awareness and business impact
  • Oversee media budgets, ensuring effective allocation and ROI across initiatives

Creative Development & Language Localization

  • Ensure all creative content (copy, visuals, media assets) resonates with target audiences and aligns with brand voice
  • Champion culturally relevant storytelling and messaging across English and Spanish communications
  • Stay current on trends in multicultural marketing, retail, and media consumption

Packaging & Product Branding

  • Lead and oversee packaging design initiatives across private label and branded products, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and consumer appeal
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Merchandising, Product Development) and external vendors to guide packaging design, labeling, and compliance
  • Review and approve final packaging to ensure consistency in branding, quality, and message across all SKUs

POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND CONDITIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • 5+ years of brand management or marketing experience
  • Strong experience managing traditional media channels (print, radio, out-of-home)
  • Fluent in both English and Spanish, with excellent writing and editing skills in both languages
  • Deep understanding of multicultural audiences and consumer behavior
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with an eye for detail
  • Confident communicator and presenter, able to influence stakeholders and cross-functional teams
  • Experience managing external agencies and creative vendors

  • This position is headquartered in the Northgate Gonzalez Market Support Center. As such, this position is defined as full-time and on-site. Any remote work or work performed outside of the Support Center must be authorized by the Department’s Supervisor.
