Tier 2 Cyber Data Threat Analyst

Job Description

As required by our governmental client, this position requires being a US Citizen AND an active DOE Q clearance.

We are seeking a Tier 2 Cyber Threat Analyst to support a federal government customer in Las Vegas, NV. The Cyber Data Analyst (CDA) will analyze cybersecurity insights, identify anomalies, and model complex data sets using statistical, algorithmic, mining, and visualization techniques.

Compensation & Benefits

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Tier 2 Cyber Threat Analyst: $85,000 to $95,000 Pay commensurate with experience. Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Tier 2 Cyber Threat Analyst Responsibilities Include

• Integrate, prepare, and manipulate large structured and unstructured datasets.
• Conduct statistical analysis and correlate monitored network traffic.
• Perform trending and attack signature analysis to support SOC Intrusion Analysts and cybersecurity teams.
• Develop and present actionable insights, reports, and visualizations for stakeholders.
• Identify new data sources to improve predictive modeling and threat detection.
• Research and analyze emerging threats, techniques, tactics, and procedures.
• Create documentation and characterize attack vectors.
• Develop tools and procedures to detect sophisticated attack methods.
• Support data analytics projects and collaborate with IT and cybersecurity functions.
• Travel up to 15% (local and nationwide).
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
  
  

Tier 2 Cyber Threat Analyst Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

• Education & Experience: Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Security, or related field OR 4 years of equivalent technical work experience. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of networking, common protocols, and information security principles.
• Experience in statistical analysis, data modeling, and cybersecurity analytics.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and time management skills.
• Certifications: DoD 8570 IAT Level II and CSSP Analyst (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience in briefing large groups.
• Professional Attributes: Self-starter, detail-oriented, adaptable, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
