Position Summary:

The Senior Accountant supports the day-to-day financial operations at ICM. Reporting to the Controller, this role is responsible for a wide range of accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting. The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting internal controls, and contributing to the integrity of our data. This position also provides essential support during audits, budgeting, and month-end close processes, helping ensure the financial health and long-term stability of the organization.

This is a remote position; however, due to regulatory and operational requirements, we are only considering candidates who reside in Oregon or Washington State.

Specific Position Requirements & Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable & Receivable:

  • Process vendor invoices and employee reimbursements with proper coding and approvals.
  • Oversee client invoices, deposits, and payment tracking.
  • Help resolve payment discrepancies in collaboration with clients and internal teams.
  • Monitor and maintain aging reports; support collection efforts and escalate AR balances due, as appropriate

General Accounting & Month-End:

  • Prepare journal entries and assist with monthly close activities.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and key balance sheet accounts.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the general ledger.

Financial Reporting & Analysis:

  • Support the preparation of monthly financial reports.
  • Assist in budget tracking and provide variance explanations.
  • Participate in audits and internal reviews by gathering documentation and preparing schedules.

Compliance & Tax Support:

  • Assist with filings such as sales/use tax, business licenses, and state-specific compliance items.
  • Help maintain accurate records for annual audit and tax preparation in coordination with external CPA firms.
  • Process Improvement & Collaboration:
  • Recommend and help implement improvements in accounting procedures and systems.
  • Collaborate with the Controller and other departments on cross-functional projects and ad hoc financial tasks.

Other Duties:

  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support the Finance team and company operations.

Requirements:

Work Experience, Qualifications, Additional Skill and Abilities, and Professional Competencies:

Required:

  • 3 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with exposure to full-cycle accounting functions
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls
  • Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and account reconciliations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software systems
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments
  • High level of personal accountability, integrity, and commitment to data accuracy

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting month-end close, budgeting, and financial reporting
  • Experience in a healthcare, insurance, or professional services environment
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks Online
  • Exposure to payroll processes or payroll system integration

Required:

Education, Licensure, and Certification Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

Preferred:

  • CPA license or active CPA candidate
  • Additional coursework or certification in financial analysis, tax, or compliance

Work And Physical Conditions:

  • This position operates in a remote work setting and requires reliable internet access and a suitable home workspace
  • Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, with flexibility as needed to meet deadlines and attend meetings
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods (6–8 hours per day)
  • Ability to work on a computer and use a keyboard and mouse for prolonged periods (6–8 hours per day)
  • Ability to use a telephone or headset for voice communication as needed throughout the workday
  • Must be able to lift and transport a laptop, headset, and paper files between office and home environments, typically under 20 pounds
