About the position

The Director of Training and Sales Development leads the strategy, development, management, and execution of training and sales development initiatives across the FASTSIGNS network. This role ensures alignment with business growth objectives, franchisee performance, and internal team development.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting complex information effectively to diverse audiences. They should demonstrate expertise in instructional design methodologies, adult learning principles, and training evaluation techniques, along with proficiency in e-learning authoring tools, learning management systems, and multimedia software. Strong organizational and project management skills are essential, enabling them to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. The candidate should have proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with stakeholders. Adaptability to changing business needs, embracing new technologies and training methodologies, is crucial. Proficiency in using both G Suite and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is needed, with beneficial skills in software like Adobe Creative Suite, Acrobat, SharePoint, Camtasia, and Articulate Storyline. Previous experience in a support or coordinator capacity is preferred, along with being self-directed, capable of managing multiple projects, and maintaining confidentiality for sensitive corporate issues. Proficiency in training and facilitating activities is also required.

Essential Functions

Strategic Leadership and Planning:

  • Lead and develop the Training and Sales Development Department to achieve goals on budget and schedule. Align training programs with business objectives, franchise growth, and brand strategies. Oversee annual department planning, KPI monitoring, and participate in company-wide initiatives.


Training Program Management:

  • Oversee franchisee and staff training programs, manage the Learning Management System (LMS), and develop internal staff training. Plan sessions for the annual convention, research new courses, and incorporate emerging training technologies. Use franchisee feedback to enhance program effectiveness.


Sales Development and Coaching:

  • Manage training programs for sales professionals and guide franchisees on best practices. Conduct sales training and develop strategies targeting niche markets. Foster a sales-driven organization and track activities with CRM tools.


Leadership and Department Management:

  • Supervise department personnel, manage logistics, and lead Franchise Advisory Board Groups. Enhance presentation skills for guest speakers and manage cross-department collaboration.


Professional Development and Engagement:

  • Enhance skills, serve as a brand ambassador, edit training manuals, and support special projects assigned by Brand Leadership.


What We Need

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business, financial or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in managing support teams in a medium- or large-size franchise company.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in instructional design, training delivery, and evaluation, preferably in a corporate training or franchise environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in the sign industry preferred.
