SUMMARY
South Shore Bank is seeking an experienced Commercial Lending Portfolio Manager (PM) II who will provide client management support as primary or secondary contact for assigned portfolio of loans/clients in the Commercial Lending Department. Work in conjunction with Relationship Managers/Loan Officers to service clients, including new loan requests. Promote overall growth and development of the Commercial Lending Department.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B.A) or equivalent. Five+ years of experience including formal credit training and/or commercial lending.
Technical Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, legal documents and common scientific and technical journals. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office applications. Preferred skills in various banking systems: NCino, Nautilus, Fiserv.
Language Skills
Strong communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

SUMMARY
South Shore Bank is seeking an experienced Commercial Lending Portfolio Manager (PM) II who will provide client management support as primary or secondary contact for assigned portfolio of loans/clients in the Commercial Lending Department. Work in conjunction with Relationship Managers/Loan Officers to service clients, including new loan requests. Promote overall growth and development of the Commercial Lending Department.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Works closely with a team of Relationship Managers/Loan Officers to support commercial clients.
- In conjunction with the Relationship Managers, the PM will be responsible for the collection and review of financial information, ensuring compliance with loan covenants and conditions, monitoring for timely client loan payments and preparation of comments to the loan file as appropriate.
- Responsible for maintaining and updating loan operating system to ensure all financial covenants are tracked appropriately; utilize loan operating system to generate covenant tracking reports.
- Assists with the underwriting of credit recommendations related to renewals and modifications of existing loans and new loan requests.
- Analysis will include in-depth review of business, project and individual financial statements, tax returns and other relevant credit information including collateral analysis.
- Interacts with clients independently to address non-routine servicing matters or other risk related issues.
- May present requests to management and the Loan Approval Committee.
- May be assigned a small portfolio of relationships to manage and grow individually.
- Accompany Relationship Managers/Loan Officers to client meetings.
- Corresponds with vendors (attorneys, environmental experts, engineers, accountants) as needed.
- Assists with requests to advance funds from lines of credit and construction loans by conducting or assisting with property inspections, reviewing borrowing base certificates or other financial information, etc.
- Assures that files are maintained, complete and accurate; all financials should be uploaded into the loan operating system appropriately.
- Role requires strong technical competency to learn new loan operating systems and the desire to build out and enhance the effectiveness of the systems in place.
- Meets all compliance and regulatory requirements for loan files (i.e. Regulation B, Flood, etc.)
- Works in collaboration with the Credit and Loan Servicing Departments as well as all areas of the Bank.
- Identifies opportunities to cross-sell additional bank products and services.
- Participates and assists in other applicable commercial lending department activities.
- Develops solid knowledge of market for marketing and portfolio management purposes.
- Participates in community affairs to increase the bank's visibility.
