Marram Health Center in Gary, IN is looking to add a part-time Dentist to the team. The Dentist will provide general dental services for Marram Health Center patients, a Federally Qualified Health Center, 3 days per week. The Dentist may also occasionally see patients at our Marram Hebron location.
Porter-Starke Services, Inc., a Community Mental Health Center (CMHC) based in Valparaiso and serving Northwest Indiana with additional offices in Portage, Knox, and LaPorte, also operates Marram Health Center, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with offices in Gary, Hebron, and Portage. Marram Health Center participates in the NHSC/HRSA Loan Repayment program. Open to candidates requiring J-1/H1-B visa sponsorship.

- Provides a high standard of dental care encompassing preventive, operative, periodontal, oral surgery, and other treatments as needed, according to the Marram Health Center Dental Scope of Practice.
- Supervises dental assistants directly including assigning necessary tasks within scope of job.
- Remains current in clinical expertise through utilization of continuing education.
- Meets dental program productivity standards and goals as outlined by 330 Grant guidelines.
- Exhibits professional behavior and leadership qualities in presence of patients and other dental staff.
- Performs other duties as required by the Health Center Dental Director.
- Participates in quality improvement/assurance activities.
- Familiarizes and complies with all policies and procedures.
- Meets standards of behavior expectations.
- Follows established guidelines for use and/or disclosure of protected health information. Employees should report any breaches of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) rules to the Privacy Officer (Director of Quality, Education & Risk Management) immediately. Failure to comply with HIPAA policies and procedures will result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Possess strong organizational skills
- Proficient in correct English usage, spelling and grammar.
- Proficient in oral and written communication procedures.
- DDS or DMD degree from an American Dental Association dental school or foreign equivalent.
- Must be eligible for dental licensure in the State of Indiana.
